Unscrewed 2 screws on the top panel where's the panel left hold it out the filter was sitting right in front of me replace filter put screws in job is done
This filter was a CHEAP replacement. I could see no evidence of any charcoal element in the filter. I'll never order from this place again.

Why does filter reset light come on and how does one change the filter?

Hi Judith,
Thank you for your inquiry. The light is letting you know to clean the filter below the microwave. Once you have cleaned it, you can reset the the light by pressing and holding the the reset filter button for 5 seconds. The charcoal filter is located just behind the grill at the top of the microwave. You will need to remove it so you can gain access to the filter so you can replace it. I hope this helps. We had this microwave installed yesterday. I don't think it came with a charcoal filter. Should I get a charcoal filter as our microwave does not vent to the outside? And does it go directly over the metal grease filter screen?

Thank you for your question. There is a charcoal filter listed under your model number. The part number listed under your model number for the charcoal filter is PS3510489. Replacing the charcoal filter is only important if your over-the-range microwave hood is re-circulating air. Some configurations vent to the outdoors and so would not need to make use of the charcoal filter in the microwave, eliminating the need to replace it. I hope this helps.
