My ice maker works fine for production of ice. However it will not dispense the ice. Motor runs to try and turn the auger in the bin but it will not dispense. Seems like the gear in the bin is not grabbing the gear in the ice maker body

Hi Rick, thank you for the question. First, you may need to make sure that the ice chute is not jammed. Remove the cubes that are jamming the dispenser chute. Also, the ice bucket may be jammed due to ice freezing around the auger. This can be caused by infrequent use, temperature fluctuations, and/or power outages. Remove the ice container, thaw, and empty the contents. Clean the container and wipe dry. When fresh ice is made, dispenser should operate properly. If that is not causing the issue and the motor runs properly, then you may need to make sure the auger is secured properly and not loose. The auger comes as a part of the ice container, part number PS11769791. If it is faulty, you may need to replace the complete ice container. We hope this information is useful!

My in-the-door ice maker works but I can't remove the bin from the door. I have defrosted it and it still won't release.
For model number KRFC604FSS00
Hello Gerald, thank you for your inquiry. Use a hair dryer aimed at the very bottom to get any ice at the metal coupling thawed. It may look okay, but that area stays cold and if it is frozen together, it will stick. Sometimes the release breaks, too, and it will not unlatch in the base of it. Hopefully, the heat will help. If this does not help, the only other thing you can try is to get a hook shaped pick tool. Then go through the opening in the bottom of the ice bucket and manually push the rod over to release the clips from the tabs. This can be very hard to do, but is possible. We hope this is helpful!
