how to remove ice maker ?
Hi Mark, thank you for reaching out. First, unplug the unit and turn off the water supply. The ice maker is located inside the ice compartment on the left door behind the bins. Push up on the latch on the left-hand side of the ice compartment to open the door. Once the door is open, disconnect the wires from the ice maker and remove it. We hope this helps!

Good evening, My refrigerator is a 2017model, it’s working perfectly in the freezer section, but ice maker is not working and refrigerator portion is not cooling properly. Any recommendations appreciated? How do you determine if it’s an issue with Evaporator fan or Whirlpool W11429989 Solenoid (Actuator)? I’ve been told this particular model has a twin cooling system, therefore, it’s not believed to be the Evaporator fan?

Hello Cathy, Thank you for the question. Normally this indicates the Heater in the Ice Maker is defective and not melting the cubes enough to "unstick" and release from the Ice Maker Tray. The Heater is not sold on its own, so the Ice Maker will need to be replaced. We hope this helps!

I used a flat-head screwdriver to pop out the old light rocker switch. Then, I unplugged the wires, plugged them into the new light rocker switch, and then popped the new switch into the hole. That's it! Lights began working again.

Purchased new motor from Partselect.com. When it arrived it came with a new rubber washer that fitted on top of new motor that was not on old motor, that how water got into old motor. However, the instruction sheet did not give info on how to access the proper way to the motor that is the door. Not wanting to damage the freezer door assy.
