This is a ball bearing that is used to reduce friction between the crankshaft and crankcase cover within various small engines. This bearing is sold as a singular part from its original equipment manufacturer and is made of high-quality metal. Featuring a 2.05-inch (52mm) outer diameter and a .98-inch (25mm) inner-diameter, this bearing prevents excessive noise, rattling, wobbling and vibrations from interfering with the crankshaft and crankcase as a whole. If you notice any of those things, you need to inspect this bearing for damage or wear immediately to prevent further damage to any other internal components. Replacing this bearing will require you to use a screwdriver and wrench to gain access to the internal portion of the engine for equipment. First, disconnect the spark plug and make sure to adhere to any equipment manufacturer assembly instructions, such as removing the engine cover, ignition coil and carburetor. Once you have access to the bearing location, remove it and ensure the entire area is cleaned and lubricated adequately before installing the new bearing and aligning the crankshaft.
