Ice Maker Stopped Making Ice
After receiving the new icemaker in the mail, I went on line and got some directions and advice from people who had to do the same job. It was helpful getting their input, because many of them seemed to be doing it for the first time, and even though I'm mechanically inclined, I like to know what I'm getting into before I start.
The on-line help was excellent, and because of this I was able to make the R&R of the ice maker without a hitch.

Ice maker not working
Removed old ice maker (3 screws) and disconnected power and water supplies. Next, cut out popout area at the rear of the water inlet resevoir (a utility knife works fine, just trace out the grooved area to seperate the area that needs to be opened so that the water supply hose can sit in the opening.. Then, cut a piece of plastic card stock(.020 to .030 thickness to close the side cut out of the water inlet resevoir. Use the super glue to fasten this piece. Place the new ice maker in place and fasten the screws.

Ice maker leaking water in back of unit
Removed three screws, unplugged the electrical from the side of the freezer. Transferred the electric and the ice level bar to the new unit. Plugged the unit back in, installed the three screws and that was it. The teflon on the unit was coming off which caused the leak and a fowl taste in the ice cubes. The new unit took care of this. Received the package in three days, wonderful!! Anyone could do this themself!!

Ice maker was pouring water into the freezer creating large ice flows inside.
First, I read about 15 descriptions of this repair on your web site. Then I carefully attempted the job. I found that, as others said, the most difficult part of the replacement was the electrical connection, both unplugging and plugging it back in to the replacement part. The icemaker did not seem to function at first, so I removed the part and made sure I had fully inserted the plug into the receptacle. This took far less time than the initial removal and replacement. It began to work fine, and is really an easy job- just makes a person nervous w/o directions, etc.

Ice maker was leaking and melting ice to a big clump
Ordered Friday and received the next day. Pulled the refrigerator out, turned off the water, removed 3 screws, unplugged wire harness. Removed old harness and wire shut off rack from ice maker, installed on the new ice maker plugged in put, replaced the 3 screws, turned the water back on, finished. Took less then 10 minutes for all this to happen. Piece of cake! Had ice the next day. Never ordered, received, and fixed anything this fast!

Ice maker was making ice, but bin was also filling with water
I just removed the bottom screw, then the top 2 screws on the ice maker after shutting off the water line and unplugging the refrigerator first. The ice maker was gently allowed to lay down as i unplugged the wiring harness on the inside back of the freezer. I took the wiring harness off the broken unit by pushing the little tab down and gently pulling the harness plug. Of course, you have to get the cover off first, gently using a screw driver to get the cover past the tabs. Then just plug the old wiring harness into the new one. The most difficult part is laying down on the floor and plugging the wiring harnes back in and getting the ice maker screwed back in. My new icemaker had a bent angle connector so I had to use the old one so the hole would line up. Also, a flashlight is helpful since the refrigerator is unplugged. Also, I put my ice cream in a picnic cooler with the old ice, in case it took longer than I thought it would. Really, though, anyone who can lay on the floor and is used to taking things apart and putting them back together will find this pretty easy and take less than a half hour.

Ice maker was heating tye ice cubes too long / inside of the tray coating was flaking away
turned off the power. took out the bottom scerw and loosened the top two screws. lifted out the old ice maker which allowed enough room to unplug the power cable from the back of the freezer. put the cables and bucket fill rod on the new unit and installed the same way it came out. turned on the power .closed the door and waited for the ice maker to cycle. it takes about 20 minutes; the ice maker has to get down to the proper temperature,

The icemaker stalled on the heat cycle and melted itself
The disassembly was fairly easy. Just remove the three screws with a 1/4 inch nutdriver. There are two above and one below the icemaker assembly. Then disconnect the power wiring harness from the back of the motor/timer assembly.
Re-installation is just the reverse and is made much easier if you can remember where you put the screws after waiting a day or two for the replacement to arrive!

ice maker quit working
I finally realized the fill line for the ice maker was stopped up with ice. I turned the frig. off for 2 hrs. and used a hairdryer to blow hot air up in the fill line ( that hangs down over ice maker). Turned it back on and it worked fine .

my ice maker stopped working
It was relatively easy to replace the ice maker...
I removed the two screws from the rail and the one screw underneath after unplugging the unit. The I removed the plug and transferred it to the new ice maker (if you've ever changed computer parts you'll find this very familiar). I then switched the arm assembly from the old ice maker to the new one and put it in the place where the old one was. A few twists of a nut driver and it was in. Unfortunately it still isn't working as it would appear it isnt my only problem... the ice maker is trying to pull water but it appears its having no luck.
