RM280PXAB0 Whirlpool Microwave Oven Combo - Instructions

I had previously partially removed the element and tested with multi-meter to determine that it was not working (open circuit). Repair procedure follows:

Turned off Power
Removed 2 retaining screws
Pulled element out part way
Removed 2 spade connectors supplying power
Replaced element w/new element
Reversed procedure
Tested Oven; worked fine.

The button fell apart, then fell out of the microwave. I found the part on the internet and print the page. Went to my local Sears to see if they had part in stock. Sears uses something just above a DOS base computer system. If you do not have the exact part number they can not help you-mind you the part itself does not have a number on it. Anyhow, I order the part which arrived in three days. Simply, put the old spings in place and snaped the piece in place.

Did require removing almost every screw in the oven door. Labeled the screws as they were removed. Not difficult, just like solving a puzzle.

As soon the Bake Element has arive, I install it no more than 5 min... All I nedd was a Screw driver. It was so easy, Thank You PartSelet!

I removed the back panel, unplugged the wires, removed the 2 screws, replaced the element, plugged the wires back in and put the back panel back on. Now that I'm thinking about it, I guess I didn't even need to remove the back panel to replace the element.

I trouble shot and traced out to electrical short in face panel and found burnt wires. I've been a licensed electrician for years and it takes alot of comon sense to trouble shoot and find problem. I found schetch-matic of appliance and searched computor and found partselect.com and tried it. It wasnt no time and the part was at my door. Naturally the oven turned was off but for added safety I also set the breaker protecting the oven to the off position. Where the element attaches to the oven there is a small plate with two screws holding the element in position. Remove these two screws and then gently pull the element out 2-3 inches, which will expose the electrical connection. Using needle nose pliers gently pull on one of the wires to remove it from the element. Now remove the other and discard the old element. Simply plug the new element into those wires and screw the plate back into the oven. Now turn the breaker back on and you're done. Super easy!

removed 2 screws . pulled out the 2 wires and disconect them. took out the element. Put the new element in and hooked the wires up. placed the metal bracket to the back and put in the 2 screw and turned it on and it worked like new.

unscrewed two screws put in new element replaced two screws done, recieved the element within days of order,it was the right part,couldn't have been happier with the service from parts select thank you.

Just like you said,remove two screws,pull out element,disconnect wires,install new part. It was easier to pull out stove and hook up wires.

My husband is an over-the-road driver, so I have to do all of the repairs myself. I went to the breaker box and turned off the power to the range. Then I removed 2 screws, pulled the element out about 3", and disconnected the wires. I then connected the wires to the new element, pushed it back in place, and replaced the screws. We had Parmesan Chicken for dinner and my children were thrilled!

I removed two screws, pulled it out a few inched and unpluged two wires. I then plugged the two wires into the new element slowly slid the wires and element back into place and put the two screws back in... and it worked perfectly. I did it all in less than five mins. And I am a 53 year old woman.No man was required.

First, my son pulled the range out and I unplugged it. Then he removed the 2 screws that hold the element in place. He then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the wires. Then he placed the new element in the oven, connected the wires and put in the screws back in. It worked immediately!!

First I turned off the circuit breaker to the oven. Then, I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches to disconnect the two wires. The connectors were tight, so required a little wiggling to disconnect the wires.

Upon receipt of the replacement element, I turned off the circuit breaker to the oven. Then, I reconnected the element wires, pushed the connect wires into the back of the oven, and rescrewed the unit in place. With the circuit breaker turned back on, I tested the oven. It worked great. Very easy!

First, I turned the breaker off to the oven, that's the most important step.
Next, I turned on the oven to make sure the oven was not energized.
I then took out two phillips screws that were holding the baking element in place.
Next I pulled the element out slowly to expose the wires that connected to the element.
I removed the connecters, took out the damaged element, replaced it with the new element.
Last, I screwed the two phillips screws back in, and saved a $65.00 service call.
