Ice maker was leaking
The repair was very easy. I only had to undo the harness from the refrigerator and remove three screws to take out the ice maker. After removing the part I simply removed the other end of the harness from the old ice make and attached it to the new one and replaced the new ice maker by plugging the harness back into the refrigerator and then replacing the three screws. In about 2 hours I had ice!!!

My old ice maker was leaking oil from the gears into the ice
Had I not confused the old ice maker with the new one and tried to reinstall the old ice again I would have been done in less than 15 minutes. The instructions were clear and helpful, the parts all fit and it went right in. It worked within a few minutes and has been perfect since. Thanks

Door would not close on its own. Stopped 1" short of closing unless pushed in all the way
This was easy. Removed the plastic cover at the top hinge. Removed the 3 screws at the top hinge. Lifted the door off of the bottom hinge and laid it on it's side. The part that was worn out is the "natural door closer". It looks like this part will need to be replaced every few years, it is made of plastic and was ground down to nubs. Remove the screws holding it down and replace it with the new one. Lubed it up with some WD40 to get rid of squeaks. I also replaced the lower hinge pin, but I don't think that was necessary.

Kickplate was broken where hinge covers attach
Repair requires the removal of the bottom hinges on the doors. No problem for the refrigerator side, but the freezer side has wiring in the freezer door for the water/ice dispenser, so have some wood blocks handy to prop it up. Biggest challenge is that in the center of the kickplate there is a mounting screw (Torx head) that is behind the kickplate and runs vertically. I removed the old kickplate without removing this screw, just broke the kickplate off. The screw is very difficult to access with any tool. Removal wasn't too terrible because the old kickplate was gone; but insertion with the new kickplate in place was a challenge. I used a Torx socket, but because there isn't enough clearance for the ratchet, I held the socket into place by wedging a large flat blade screwdriver between the bottom of the socket and the floor. I was just able to get my index finger under the new kickplate to slowly turn the socket to fasten the screw. Unfortunately I didn't feel as though I could skip the screw - without it the kickplate sags in the center.

Water leak into the cube tray. Block of ice would form.
Repair for the most part is very easy! With the particular assembly that I purchased you MUST keep the cord, the wire piece that tells the ice maker when tray is full and the front cover from the previous part. Removal is easy. Flip wire piece up. Remove ice holder. Remove screw at bottom of assembly. Push assembly up not to hard as you don't want to break the clips attached to the fridge. Pull out far enough to disconect white cord at the fridge connection. Piece removes easily. I actually had a little ice build up in the white hose that dispenses the water. I took a cup of warm/ hot water and held up to hose to melt ice. To put back in just do it in reverse. Remove the 3 parts previously mentioned. Put on the new assembly. It was a little tricky getting the clamps to click into place. Just go slow and push upwards and towards fridge wall. This is definately worth trying yourself before calling a repair man! Good luck. Hope this helpful.

Refrigerator section was getting warm, due to frosted coil in freezer section.
I actully did two replacements at one time. I replaced the defrost heater and thermostat plus the adaptive defrost. I chose to replace both as I had no way of diagnosing which was the problem (excecept for the heater of course). Firstly make sure you keep track of where the screws come from when you disassemble the plastic and metal panels. Once the coil is defrosted in the freezer, it is easy to remove the panel covering the coil, then it is very easy to remove and replace the thermostat and heater. Just be careful to route the wires the same way as the origional configuration and do not force anything near the coil evaporator coil as it is only aluminum. The adaptive defrost component is simple to change out, the hard part is to CAREFULLY remove the plastic panels under which is located the adaptive defrost. Again, remember where the screws go and how the parts go together. The video for changing out the adaptive defrost is extremely helpful. Patience, patience and more patience is required when fooling with the bits of plastic. Allow plenty of time to do the project and do not rush. All of the parts go together like a jig saw puzzle but are very logically assembeled. Good Luck, I saved about $300 in doing these fixes my self.
