The control knob stem broke off when I moved the stove.
I located and removed 2 sets of hex-head screws under the front lip of the cooktop, then lifted the entire cooktop to access the burner controls. Removed the wires and taped them, and took out the old control after removing 2 phillips head screws. Installed replacement part easily. Only tricky part is that the various shaft adapters don't quite work with my knob. I'll fix it completely with a bit of epoxy and the adapters they sent.
disconnected power remove oven racks and oven bake shields removed two bolts from end bracket plate on element carefully pull bake element partly out until the electrical wires are visible, remove two small screws, remember the side of element each wire attaches, red is power black is ground. , replaced new element in reverse order, reattach wires to element and snug tighten , not over tighten. Element worked like new.
The bake element started to crack and open in several areas.It was just a matter of time before it would of broken in half.
Turn the power of to the stove used a 5/16 socked and unscrewed the element from the stove. Used the socket to remove the wires from the element. Installation was easy make sure you hold the end of the elements where the wires attach so they do not bend when tightening. Everything is working and back to normal. Make sure you use the model number to get the correct part needed.Part select was the best and delivery was with in 5 days.
it was hard to figure out the instructions from A switch to B switch to my switch. The first switch was no good the second one was good. prayer book didn't hurt.thank
I flipped breaker off for electic and confirmed that power to the stove was off. I removed the 2 screws holding the control unit in place. Carefully removed all knobs and buttons and pryed the cover for the control unit off. I then removed old part, removed the wired and clipped wires to the new unit. Put cover back on - has some difficulty getting the panel back in place to line up the screws. But after a couple of attempts, was able to line up unit and put screws in place to secure. Replaced all knobs. Turn breaker back on and cooked lunch. Very easy job. Most difficult part was getting panel back in position. I would watch alignment more carefully before I removed in next time. Easy home repair for Women...not sure about my man?
The oven coil burnt out visibly sparking at the failure point on the coil
This model has a top oven and a bottom. The repair was to the top oven. I shut off the electricity to the oven at the circuit breaker box.I removed the grates and unscrewed the two screws holding the burner in place. I gently pulled the burner free along with its two attached wires. I removed the two screws that retained the connections to the burner. I installed the new burner in the reverse order. Turn on the circuit. Good to go.
The original controls were different for the small burners and the large burners. The replacement part fits all. Before removing wires, pay attention to writing on new and old control and replace 1 at a time. The hardest part was being sure to cut the knob stem to the correct length. Control works well.
Old element was burned out. Haaven't figurerd out how this happened.
Just unpluged the old one and detached the wires. put the new one in and used a socket wrench to rewire it. . Very easy and was shipped in perfect condition and easy to replace. Very pleased.It fit perfect and oven works just fine. Thank you so much for the service which was very speedy. It was packed to perfection.
I read parts select instructions and i was done in less than 30 minutes. Since 1988, this is the 1st. part that I had to replace. I now have parts select on my favorites list.
slid the range away from wall. disconnect power. removed back,compared switches and marked wires.installed new switch and wires.the adapter for the control knob was a problem it left the knob out futher than original i had to modify the plastic adapter and got it close enought! the most time spent was cleaning up the floor before putting the range back.
