Stopped making ice
I have a side-by-side fridge/freezer, so taking out the icemaker is a bit more tricky than the video shows. I just unscrewed a nut in the back right of the mechanism (this nut is holding the icemaker in place as well as the plug cover). Once that was off it slid out pretty easy. Because the freezer is so narrow, it's a bit difficult to get it back in, but all told the repair took me about 20 minutes. Replacing this part fixed the icemaker immediately and we're so glad to have our on demand ice back! Ladies, don't be afraid of a little appliance repair!

ice maker stopped making ice
Originally ordered parts I thought would fix ice maker. When I took apart the icemaker assembly I noticed and found the actual part that went bad. Called customer service and was able to return the parts I thought would fix the ice maker, without any problems. I ordered the correct part on the same call. Within a day or so the new part arrived and was installed within 15 minutes. Thanks to the instructions & comments posted on the "Instant Repairman" link. Awesome customer service that can not be bet.

Ice Maker stopped
I removed the ice maker, which consist of three 1/4 inch screws to install the water fill cup and bearing. One must loosen the front panel of ice maker to install the fill cup which consist of two standard screws, slide forward enough to install new fill cup. The removal of the Icemaker control was simple, using #2 phillips screwdriver and three screws. Unplug the control and install the new one, replace the three screws and cover. Reinstall the ice maker and within one hour cubes were dropping in the bin. I saved a lot of money repairing myself, which more than covers the shipping cost. Shipping was fast, two days.

water inlet started to leak
It took longer to get the part than it took to repair the water inlet. The help from the staff was very responsible and the repair direction off of the net very clear and understandable. I order the wrong part and was offered assistance and directed to the correct part than there were no issues but clear sailing.

Both sides stopped getting cold
I'm a 65 year old widow on a limited SS income, so I needed to get my refrigerator fixed as cheaply as possible. Partselect's troubleshooting guides took me right to the problem. I ordered the part on a Friday and it arrived the next Tuesday. It probably took me a little longer than it would a repairman, but I did it myself with just a screwdriver and a nut driver and it only cost me $45 instead of the $200 plus it costs my daughter to have someone else replace hers two years ago. Always remember to unplug amy electrical device before removing the covers or attempting any repair. All I had to do was remove the lower back cover on the refrigerator and, using the partselect diagram, locate the casing that covered the start relay and the overload switch on the left side of the compressor. I popped the casing off with the screwdriver, pulled the relay off (it's sits on two prongs), and remove the red terminal wire from the relay. Installation of the new relay is the reverse steps of the removal. Thanks, Partselect! I will be doing business with you again if the need ever arises.
