Handle broken at top screw.
Remove 2 screws on opened edge of door. Carefully use putty knife to loosen and slip interior door unit from exterior door cover. Be careful, your working with plastic. You should be able to have a large enough cap at open edge at bottom of door to reach in with philips screwdriver. The bottom handle screw is cover by a dense padding. You will need to use screwdriver point to move padding away from screw. With left hand holding firmly on front outside of door apply pressure to screwdriver and backout the bottom handle screw. Assemble new handle in reverse order. Apply even index finger to thumb pressure to reassemble interior door unit into door cover.
Rep knew exactly what I needed when I described where the part should go on my microwave - price great - shipping great - installed in seconds. Thank you!
The handle on the microwave had broken at the bottom screw.
I ordered the handle and one screw (I thought they were 2 per pack). I removed the handle and replace it using the new screw and one of the old screws. It was VERY easy.
After removing the over-the-range unit (no small feat!) I had to figure out how to open the case (good puzzle!). Capacitor had already discharged, so it was very easy to reach in, pop the old fuse and install the new one! As per your advice, I found out I was a "28%-er"! Upon re-installation, the microwave "sprang to life"!! Thanks, "Part Select"!! I was already shopping around for a new machine! (Now if you could only tell me an easier way to re-mount this heavy beast over the stove!!!)
Dropped the glass cooking tray and it broke in half
Looked up the Whirlpool Co. and ordered the part. It was quite simple. Arrived in 2 days and I simply placed it in the microware. It was very very easy!
Hello, I unscrewed the two screws on the edge of the door. Then gently wiggled the door frame (front cover) loose (this was the first time its been off so there was grease build up in places that I never saw) once off just unscrewed screw and put back on microwave cover screwed outer screws in and good as new!
The old coupling melted and the tray cracked in half.
It took me 15 minutes total - 5 minutes to clean the microwave, 1 minute to install three new parts, and 9 minutes to enjoy my celebratory glass of wine!
Door handle was broken at bottom. Cracked when we moved in and then just fully broke.
The top of the handle was fine and the screws that held it in place are totally accested from inside the door(2 screws). The bottom 2 screws are 'hidden' by the inside of the door. You don't have to remove the door itself(unless you want to), but you do have to remove the inner door panels (there is a black band between the 2 white door pieces) to access the 2 remiaining screws. I found that a putty knife was a good tool to use. Work from the hinge part of the door to the handle end. The top was easier than the bottom? Once the back is loose enight to access the bottom screws you are basically done. Screw in the new handle with the old screws(hope you didn't thro them away). Reassemble the back(inside) of the door. Just put the black band on the glass portion and push back together.
