Keep searches simple. Use keywords, e.g. "leaking", "pump", "broken" or "fit".
Discharge hose had been crushed while moving from on e location to another.
Order new hose from Part select. It arrived a couple of days later. I took the old hose off with a pair of pliers, put the new one on ran it thru the hole in the back of the machine and I was done. Total of maybe 20 minutes.
Pump requires 2 retainers. I had 1 good retainer on the top and little tension on the bottom.
Pull the washer out away from the wall and tip back. I used a small metal ammo box to hold up the washer. The bottom pump retainer is easy reach and remove with a flat screwdriver. I was able to pry off with my hand. Replace retainer insert into slots on drive motor and twist. I used a pair of Channellock pliers to lift retainer while pressing along the side till it snaped into place. Remove the support box and put washer back. Then tip washer forward to reset self-leveling mechanism.
My factory drain hose had a hole in it, that I replaced with a hose from Lowe's. This was my first time doing this, took some time and difficult. I found out after replacing it, that it was not the right fit, as the drum would bounce around during every wash. After 3 months, due to the bouncing of the drum, that house had a hole and needed to be replaced. I chose parts select, and although the specs of the hose listed it as shorter in length than the one I bought from Lowe's, it fit perfectly and fixed my lose drum. I had watched the video on parts select numerous times (swapping out hose) so this was done in less than 10 minutes. I have become a pro at this and it is all thanks to parts select. Thank You!
Washing machine was very loud and walked across the floor
It was a miracle. We were going to get rid of the washing machine because it made so much noise and rattled the whole house. It also 'walked' across the room with every load. I simply replaced the wear pads (2 of them were already worn away), and now it is as quiet as when it was new. AMAZING!
First I purchaseda new drive coupler and replaced it. Still the drum did not spin. Then I ordered a new clutch but this time when I disassembled the unit I ran power to it after removing the water pump I turned it on and the motor and basket now spun. I found out the water pump was seized so I brought it to my work bench and examined it. When I looked inside I saw a foreign object stuck in the impeller. I took needle nose pliers and worked it out. It was actually a baby's sock from my grandsons recent visit. How it got behind the drum and into the drain hose I have no idea. Once the water pump was freed up, the entire problem was fixed.
I watched the how to video and it was very helpful. I followed all the steps as described although I did not take the cabinet off , I just laid the unit down on the back with a couple towels behind it. the only thing that was a little bit hard was hooking the back clamp on the pump. If you hook the back clamp before putting the pump back on it is much easier.
Your installation videos are the best thing ever!!! Anyone who is mechanically savvy can repair anything following your instructions. Thank you SO much. I watched the video a couple of times, took some notes, and replaced the clutch. Problem solved. So, thank you for carrying a multitude of parts, quick shipping, and for the videos. I can repair almost anything, but your services make it time and cost effective in an era where the mantra is discard and replace.
Loud bang at the end of the spin cycle and symptoms of an unbalanced load.
After reading everyone elses stories, I purchased all new springs(5), new spring brackets(one of mine was rusted really badly)and all new wear pads(two sets of 3pcs each). The rusted spring bracket was the most time consuming as the screw was rusted into the bracked so I had to drill it out. Other than that, the actual spring replacement was easy. Took maybe 10 minutes. The wear pads were another story. I'm a pretty good mechanic and I had a bit of a struggle getting the old pads out. I used a long, flat head screwdriver to pry them out. Once they were out the new ones weren't too tough to get back in. Took about 20 minutes all together. I stongly recommend watching the video on removing the washer cabinet first. It will save you some time. Acutally, watch the videos on all of the parts to simplify the process. Oh and by the way, all of my washer problems are gone. Well worth my time and $70 in parts. First, I purchased the lovejoy coupling and replaced it, all of the interlocking pins were broken. I suspect that occurred when my wife washed the comforter. Started up the machine and started to smell like the motor was overheating. Also the machine was making a lot of noise (screeching) when it went into spin cycle, so I purchased the clutch. For both repairs I watched the videos and they were spot on and easy to follow. Recommend laying down the washer when replacing the lovejoy coupling, as that was a little tricky trying to do that with the unit upright. The guy in the video must have done that a thousand times to line the up the holes and the pins! Washer is working like a brand new machine!
could not get the bottom agitator to release, so finally just left it in place, first bolt I had did not fit right so ordered one directly from your store also had to wait dor my tools to get in
I am an old woman who is disabled and without any tools or knowledge, but sheer stubbornness and will power, I waited for my tools and other parts to come in, in the mean time I fixed my young neighbors whirlpool washer, well We took top off the nut I had already pre assembled her cam so set it in place of old one put bolt back in place and the top of agitator she says works perfectly now, my parts came in I had nothing to remove as my handicap daughter had already thrown away all the loose parts, I threw away old top agitator, assembled cam and put in place still did not feel tight enough so added seal from other nut!! it worked tight enough, put the inner part back in with new part and soap put the top back on and now works good as new, was disappointed could not put bottom agitator in place, just not strong enough lol well this was my story
the original piece had 3 metal clips that held the strip in place. It was a matter of sliding the strip off and sliding the new replacement part on. Time involved was less than one minute. It took longer to find the part than to install it. The part was ordered Thursday night and it was installed by Monday! Great service!
