Keep searches simple. Use keywords, e.g. "leaking", "pump", "broken" or "fit".
Replace Broken Dishwasher Door Spring
Removed 4 philips head screws on bottom front plates (2) under the dishwasher door, removed old springs and inserted new springs. Then replaced the plates and screws. Replaced both springs even though only one broke. Springs should always be replaced in pairs - as the old good spring will not be as strong as the new one.
Dishwasher would not come on - broken Door Switch Actuator
In diagnosing the problem, I pretty much took the entire door apart before observing that the door switch actuator was broken off ... I went online, logged onto PartSelect, found the appropriate diagram (which on their site is quite easy to do) and ordered the part online.
It arrived far quicker than I would ever have imagined possible and I had it installed within 2 minutes of the time I opened the package.

It was a very small and inexpensive part, but PartSelect treated us as well as if we'd spent hundreds of dollars ... we could not be happier.
Removed dishwasher, take to garage, removed lower rack to gain access to top of motor unit. Used star socket wrench to remove upper screws holding top of unit in. Disconnect wires, drain tube and counter weight. pulled motor unit out from inside dishwasher and placed on bench. Proceeded to disassemble motor. Some things were obvious, others not so. replaced old worn out parts with new, used a little lube (Vaseline) in places to assist in getting seals back in place. Instructions were of little help need to pay close attention when tearing unit apart. Reassembled with new seals, installed motor and re-installed dishwasher...NO LEAKS!! Wife and I happy.
Remove power, either unplug the unit or locate and turn off the circuit breaker. There is power under the dishwasher even if it is not running.
Use the nut driver to remove both lower panels to gain access to the bottom of the dishwasher.
I suspected the overflow switch and used the ohm meter to discover the resistance of the switch, with no water in the washer, measured anywhere from a couple of ohms to 40 ohms or more and of course it should be less than one ohm.
There was no sign of any leakage or other problem so I wanted to keep the job simple and replace only the actual micro switch.
Problem! The micro switch is mounted on the back side of the float stem kit and visibility is severely limited. About all you can see are the switch terminals and the head of the phillips screw that holds the microswitch on the rest of the float stem kit.. You'll definitely need a small mirror.
I first pulled the wires from the microswitch terminals. Then I used a small phillips screw driver to remove the screw holding the switch and the first thing that happened is the small white float lever fell out. (I didn't know that it was even there because of the poor visibility. Ugly surprise!)
I spent 1/2 hour or more studying how the lever went in and found that the cirular end of the lever fits into a circular depression in the assembly body and was HELD IN BY THE SWITCH. (Now it's really getting ugly!)
The problem then is how to get the lever back in place and have it stay there while placing the micro switch back in place. There just isn't any easy way to do that. If only the switch and lever were one piece it would have been so simple.

I placed and aligned both the lever and the microswitch on the float assembly body that I received. Using a couple of small pieces of electricians tape I taped the microswitch and lever together so they were one piece. Then I carefully (very carefully) removed the switch/lever "assembly" that I made and eased it into position onto back side of the dishwasher float stem assembly body. When the switch is almost in place there is just barely room to get the tip of your finger in there and seat the rounded end of the lever into the depression. After seating the lever, carefully replace and tighten the phillips screw holding the switch in place. Then remove the electricians tape.
Replace the wires on the micro switch terminals, replace the front panels, put your tools away, and by golly, you're done.
This repair is not for the faint-hearted nor for those with fat fingers or who tend to be klutsy. It took me three or four attemps and a couple of hours to get the microswitch and float lever into place. But I think it was worth it as I didn't have to remove the dishwasher, play with water lines, or remove the full float assembly thus avoiding creating other problems that might likely result in water leaks and additional repairs..
If you decide to try this repair, good luck. It can be done but it is tough.
Needed to replace screen because old one was breaking apart
The repair was very easy. The screen was a large plastic ring with a split opening. I placed it under water sprayer arm, got it into position on the bottom of the dishwasher, and snapped the split opening together. Job was done in less than 5 min.

Dishwasher was unstable due to broken mounting brackets
First I removed the screws holding the broken mounting brakets in place on both the left and right side and replaced them with the new brackets. It was relatively easy and now the 15 year old dishwasher in addition to still working well is held securely so that it doesn't lean forward when both upper and lower trays are extended.
Everything worked perfectly---thanks to the suggestion of your call center agent. She suggested that since the replacement door handles were no longer available, I should consider repainting them--it worked like a charm. Please tell her she was a life saver. We rent that house in Fl and my returning tenants had complained about the discoloring refer handles. Thank you
first I removed lower basket. then removed lower sprayer attached to pump housing by unscrewing the cap by hand. the I removed the pump cover . there were six alan screw two of them were missing causing the failure of the seal spraying solution at the door. replaced the pumpseal working backwards until everthing was replaced.
actually my wife did the repair. she unsrewed the water sprayer and removed it, then unscrewd the star key screws and then replaced the seal. she put everything back the way it was and it is now ready to use and we no longer have the problem. just a suggestion...if you take some baking soda and some vinager you can clean the drain out. just simply poor in the soda and then the vinager.and it will fiz cleaning your drain.
PartSelect web page helped me determine the problem and the solution. It took me longer to read the fix-it directions than it did to fix the dishwasher. Just push the part in the hole and twist. When my wife got home she was so impressed that it was fixed and we didn't spend a huge amount to have a repairman come to our house. I got so much prasie that I didn't tell her how easy it was to do the repairs
Replacing the water inlet valve was as simple as unplugging the dishwasher, turning off the water, removing the dishwasher panels, removing the old water inlet valve by removing the 2 screws holding the valve, and disconnecting from the valve the two-wire clip, the water-in hose, and the water-out hose. I could then reverse the order of these steps to install the new valve.
I had initially tore into the dishwasher to determine the problem. This process took me about an hour to determine the problem was the water inlet valve. I also checked the float switch to make sure that was not the problem. So having done all the preliminary foot work, all I needed was a new valve. I also purchased a new brass elbow to go on the new valve (about $2.50).
I reconnected the old valve so I could turn the water back on, ordered the new part and waited. Counting the day I ordered the part, it arrived on the 3rd day. Once the new part arrived I had the new part installed in less than 30 minutes.
I always hate repairs where plumbing is involved because once you take something apart and put it back together, it usually leaks. Maybe I got lucky this time because nothing leaked once I had it back together.
Installed pump kit. Was surprised the kit seemed different( some parts changed or deleted. Instructed to discard old parts and follow with new configuration. Reassembled and tried t fin it works fine now. Thank you so much
