Appliance would not shut off- heated or cooled just fine but never turned off.
Turn off the circuit breaker. 1- Removed cover- (clips on both sides of bottom front pop loose and carefully lift off) 2. Remove knobs. Unscrew the lock washer on the switch pegs 3. Unscrew all visible screws approx 4 in front and 2 on the side 4. This will allow you to jar the aluminum box loose from the top- it does not come off completely. 5. Carefully locate the switch-circuit board behind the left knob. 6. Unplug both lines- insert new part (main switch) connect both lines into the new part. 7. Replace the box just as you took it apart. 8. Make sure the knob pegs are turned all the way to the left. Reinstall lock washer. Then align knobs on appropriate pegs.turn on the circuit breaker. Check that knobs are aligned properly and turn on - let it run so that it would shut off as you raise or lower the heat or cool. If it shuts off- yeah it is fixed!!! Replace the cover carefully after a thorough cleaning. You are DONE!

Air Conditioner PC BOARD
Slide out A/C from frame about 8 inches, remove 4 screws that hold top cover. All the wires and thermostat connectors must be removed to get main control module out. I took lots of pictures and made my own wiring diagram with notes. The wire connectors look like regular push type, but they do have a release tab that can be pushed with needle nose plyers. Remove screws holding module, and do everything in reverse. Yes, the A/C works properly now. I spent an extra $110 for the thermostats and push button control, but am very happy it works and didn't have to buy a new A/C. Read more...

Control boards, also known as display boards or user interface boards, are used within electronics such as appliances to control and manage most, if not all the processes within the appliance. This control board is designed for use within various models of window unit air conditioners to display the temperature of the air that the appliance is emitting and is sold as an individual part. This control board measures approximately 7.3-inches long and features a 24-pin connector to attach within the appliance. If your air conditioner has certain error codes, does not turn on or off, or if you simply notice unusual behavior, the control board may be the reason behind it. You can test your control board for continuity with a multimeter or check for any signs of burns to see if it has shorted and is not delivering power properly. The control board is normally secured within the user interface/display panel on the front of the air conditioner and will likely only require a screwdriver or wrench to access. To replace an air conditioner control board, ensure its power is disconnected and use your user manual to locate it, before you disassemble any necessary portions of the appliance. Take pictures of any wiring harnesses for future reference, and replacing the old control board is as simple as disconnecting it and installing the new one.

A/C blows cold for 10 seconds then heating element comes on and blows hot
I bought both PC BOARDS and the 3 thermostats even tho I read that cleaning the thermostats will sometimes work. Installed thermostats but still blew hot. Installed push button control module because wife said the buttons don't always work, still blows hot. Slide out A/C from frame about 8 inches, remove 4 screws that hold top cover.
