Chainsaw when revving up will not turn chain. Does this part control that and do I also need a sprocket ?
For model number PP5020AV
Hello Thomas, thank you for getting in touch. Make sure the chain is properly adjusted. If the chain is too tight, it will not turn freely. And may not turn at all. You can tighten or loosen the adjustment screw to improve the chain tension. If this does not help, we recommend replacing the clutch assembly, part number PS9981971. The clutch is attached to the crankshaft, and engages the chain to start rotating once a certain rotational speed is reached. Glad to be of help!
