Easy replacement
Replacing the thermostat was easy. The top of the stove hinged up, and the thermostat could be removed by removing the knob and removing the two screws holding it in place. The sensor rod is pushed down through a hole in the rear or the top section, and fastened to the wall of the oven with two spring clips. Wiring is pushed onto the back of the switch. It is helpful to make a note of where the wires go before removing the old thermostat.

My oven gets way too hot! I turn it on to preheat to 350 and in a few minutes, it is at 500+, and the element is going strong.When I turn it off, the "oven preheat" light doesn't go off, but the heating element does. Is it likely I need a new thermostat electric part ps8754468? The range is 4 years old. Thanks! Mary

If either the stove or the oven both do not heat, the issue is most probably with the surface burner terminal block, part number PS783534, since the wiring of all the surface burner switches and the thermostat, which controls the heat in the oven, lie in the surface burner terminal block. We hope this information helps!
I have a ge model with front controls. So it appears the entire top needs removed to access and replace the thermostat. Do you have access to disassembly procedures or a video showing this?
