Part # 416 for GE microwave, door handle support. I need two of them, the top and bottom both broke, so i can reattach the handle. Is this part black? I need black, but can;t see a color choice when ordering. Also, do i need to order mounting screws or bolts to go with this? And is the order two supports or one? In other words, do i put two parts in my cart or just one? Thanks a lot.

Hi Robert, Thank you for your inquiry. This part is black. It is sold individually so you would need to order two. You should not need to replace your bolts unless they are broken. I hope this helps!

How do I get access to the screws to replace the door handle mounting bracket
For model number JVM3160DF2BB
PartSelect logo
Hi Bob, Thank you for your question. You will have to use a thin tool, like putty knife or a butter knife, and gently pry off the back choke cover from the front frame of your door. There are tabs all along the perimeter that hold the whole door together. You gently pop them away so that you can take the pieces away from each other. That should reveal your screws. If not, then you just remove the choke in the same way and you should see the screws that hold the handle. Good luck with your repair.

Part # 416 for GE microwave, door handle support. I just need to replace the top handle support as the bottom one is still intact. The diagram fort part #416 only point s to the bottom support, which i do not need. The top and bottom supports are not are exactly the same. Are they sold as a set under one part #? Or is there a different part # for the top support? Thank you.

Hi Doug, Thank you for your question. According to your model information and the manufacturer your top and bottom supports are actually the same part. These parts are sold individually so if you only need one then you would only need to purchase one. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

The handle broke from the top portion of the door. Do i need only one part# 416 or the entire handle?
For model number Jvm3160df3bb
PartSelect logo
Hello Tarrah, thank you for your question. If the broken spot is just where the screw connects into, at the very end of the handle you should only have to purchase the handle support, part number WB06X10939. Good luck with your repair!

How to install door handle
PartSelect logo
Hello Mana, Thank you for the question. Before you begin any repair please unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet. You will need to remove the plastic lining around the inside of the door. There are retainer clips holding the liner in place and you will need to use a putty knife to remove it. Depending on the type of microwave you have, you may have to come in from the bottom or from the top to remove the lining. Gently slide the putty knife in between the lining and the frame and go around the frame and gently pry it loose. On the hinge side you will need to come in from the backside to pry the lining off. If after you remove the lining you only see 2 screws, unthread them to see if the handle will come off. If it does not come off, you will have to remove the inside door panel in the same way you removed the lining. Once removed, unthread the remaining 2 screws and remove the old handle. Install the new door handle and reinstall both the inner door panel and the lining. Restore power to the microwave and everything should now work for you. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!
