I then removed the drain hose from the wall drain to allow me to turn the washer to gain access to the the back panel.
From the front, I then removed the plastic timer knob from the timer by unscrewing it. Then I pulled the plastic plate with the arrow on it to remove it. This exposed the screws that attached the timer to the control panel. I left them attached.
I then removed the two screws on the bottom of the front of the control panel (on each end) that attach the control panel to the washer.
I then went to the rear of the washer and removed the two screws on the top of the rear of the control panel.
I went back to the front and pulled the control panel forward and up to release it from the washer.
I then removed the two screws (that were under the plastic plate) that attached the timer to the panel and removed the timer from the panel.
Then I unplugged the wiring harness from the timer and removed the timer completely.
From there I reversed the procedure to install the new timer and knob.
