High Limit Thermostat Specifications

This high limit thermostat is used in a dryer and monitors the temperature to make sure it does not exceed 260 degrees Fahrenheit. When your dryer temperature reaches 260 it will cut it out and only comes back when it drops by at least 70 degrees Fahrenheit. If your dryer is overheating, taking too long to dry clothes, or is not producing enough heat, replacing the thermostat could be the solution to your problem. The tools needed for this part are a Phillips screwdriver, putty knife, and needle nose pliers. Refer to the manual provided by the manufacturer for installation instructions and guidance.

How do i know its the thermastat
For model number FAQE7077KR0
Hi Ronnie, Thank you for your question. To verify if the thermostat or any other electrical part in your appliance is causing an issue you may use a multimeter to check the continuity of each part. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

When drying my clothes the dryer shuts off in the middle of the cycle. When this happens the clothes are not dry and there are lights flashing in the digital window.
For model number 41788022000
Hello Debra, thank you for your question. First we would recommend opening up the unit and cleaning it out well. It sounds like it might be getting too hot and shutting down. Vacuum out around the blower, motor, vent and drum. Unplug the unit and leave it while you clean it then plug it in to see if that fixes the issue. If it doesn't, you will want to test a few parts to determine which is the issue. They are High Limit Thermostat Part Number: 3204267, Control Thermistor Part Number: 134587700 and LIMITER Part Number: 137032600. I hope this helps!

The dryer is spinning but there is no heat, what could be the problem, thanks
For model number GLEH1642DS1
Hi Tom, Thank you for your question. There are a couple of parts that you will want to check. You will want to check all of your thermostats, your thermal fuse, your heating element, and your door switch. You can test all of those parts with a multi meter to see which ones are working. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Hi i have purchased all sensors/fuses cause of not heating. At this point i've also purchased 3 high limit thermostat sensors and all 3 have blown. Please tell me what's causing this and how to fix it!?
For model number CDE4700LW0
Hello Latricia, Thank you for your inquiry. The thermal fuse blows if the dryer overheats and can also cause the high limit thermostat to blow as well and the dryer will no longer heat. It can also be caused by a power surge, or an issue with the heating element. I would test the heating element with a multimeter to see if it has continuity, then check the wiring and the power cord. Hope this helps!

My dryer melts my clothes..ruins anything soft fuzzy clothes and we have black marks on the clothes.. told to clean filter..done..scrape back vent thing that's burnt..done..turn temp down which i should have to but done...still doing it. any suggestions?
For model number EIGD55HIW0
Hello Jeanne, Thank you for your inquiry. I would check the high limit thermostat, the felt seals, the thermal limiter next to the high limit thermostat, and the thermal fuse on the motor. You can test the parts with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, there are YouTube videos available to assist you. Hope this helps!

Change thermostat and heating coil for heat and still not getting hot is there anything else I should do?
For model number FEQ332ES0
Hi Michelle, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Thermal Limiter, PartSelect Number PS419402, The High Limit Thermostat, PartSelect Number PS446428 and the Thermostat - 4 Terminal, PartSelect Number PS419278 with a multi meter to check for continuity to determine if they are defective. The dryer starts and then the pause button comes on and the dryer stops
For model number FFQE5000QW1
Hi Jackie, Thank you for the question. I suggest first cleaning the lint filter and the duct the filter fits down into. Also it is a good idea to remove the front panel to access inside and vacuum it out.If everything is clear and it still goes to pause, you may need to replace the main control board, PartSelect Number PS3490387. Hope this helps!

I had a door open error, even when closed. I replaced the Thermal Limiter, which solved that issue. After install, the dryer is getting very hot, even at low heat. The continuity of the thermal limiter as well as the high limit thermostat and thermal fuse on the heating element housing, which all checked out fine. Any thoughts? Thanks!
For model number FFSE5115PW2
Hello Ethan, Thank you for your inquiry. First check the door catch and strike to make sure they are not damaged or broken, and test the door switch with a multimeter. There are two thermal fuses in this model, one on the heating element (where the high limit thermostat is) and the other on the blower tube, plus the control thermistor, which is also on the blower tube. Also test the heating element itself. If you have tested all of these parts, you may have a wiring issue or an issue with the main control board, which gets the message from the door switch if the door is opened or closed. Check the wiring and the board for any visible damage. Good luck with your repair.

Dryer runs for about 5 seconds and turns off. Clean exhaust line and verify air flow. Also heat is generated in the 5 seconds
For model number efme627utto
Hello Bret, thank you for reaching out. If your dryer shuts off too soon then the problem appears to be with the High Limit Thermostat, part number PS446428. If that does not help then the issue is likely to be with the Thermal Fuse, part number PS2349395. Customer service is always available to help you place an order if you are having trouble doing so. Good luck with your repair!

Had a professional do the install. He had difficulty aligning the cabinet so that it did not rub against the dryer drum. The parts you mailed me worked fine and resolved the problem. Thanks. Even having to pay the installer saved me 50% on the total job.
Installer unscrewed the screws on the upper panel, loosened the pulley holding the rubber drum cable, and pulled the drum up and out of the unit. With the rear heating element exposed, he unplugged the wire connections to the heating element, unscrewed the four screws holding the element to the rear panel and took the element out. Then he installed the new heating element by re-applying the four screws into the rear panel. He then replaced the thermal limiter which was directly at the right of the heating element by unplugging the wire connections to the thermal limiter and then unscrewing the thermal limiter from the rear panel. The process to install the new thermal limiter was the reverse process. He didn't install a new High Limit Thermostat because there was one attached to the new Heater. When all the new parts were installed, he reinstalled the drum by pushing the rear nub of the drum into the whole at the center of the heating plate. He then placed the rubber drum cable around the drum with the rough service facing the drum, placed the cable on the pulley and adjusted the tension of the cable with a screw driver. He then reinstalled the front panel by aligned the screw holes and reinserting and tightening the screws.

Replaced burned out heating element
Not having the repair manual made the repair more difficult. Prior experience made the job somewhat easy. Had to study every move to make sure no parts were not broken but overall the repair went without any problems. I found out that the bearing plate was removable to facilitate removal and replacement of the heating element. Advise if you are doing a repair of an appliance you don't know much about, take your time and everything should go well for you.

dryer stopped in middle of cycle and would not restart
followed the repair video and replaced thermal fuse and thermostat(recommend replacing both due to the problem could of resulted in either part being the cause),Repair went relatively easy.I also recommend to clean and vacuum the dryer while you have it all apart due to a lot of lint buildup and don't forget to unplug before servicing!Stay Safe!!!
