Our gas dryer will not heat. Replaced door switch and gas coils but dryer still doesn't ignite. Ignitor glows but gas doesn't ignite. What else could it be?

Hello Donna, Thank you for the question. The igniter can still glow but not pull enough amps to open the valve and light the gas. I suggest testing the igniter to make sure it has the correct amps. Hope this helps!

Can you tell me how a malfunctioning trimmer thermostat ( part#we4m182) for GE dryer mod#gtdp300gm1ws will affect dryer operation. Dryer seems to be overheating and shutting down. Can't restart till it cools down.Thanks

Hello Mike, Thank you for the question. The thermostat is a safety feature that keeps the dryer from over heating, since it will force open the circuit providing power to the heater once the temperature reaches a certain point within the dryer. If defective the dryer may over heat and shut off. Hope this helps!
