The microwave glass light lens protects the light bulb inside the appliance. It is clear in color and measures approximately 6-1/2 inches long, and 2-1/2 inches wide. You may notice that this part is cracked or broken and will need to be replaced. You will need to remove the screw holding the cover in place. Unhook the cover from the bottom panel. Bend the tabs up that are securing the old lens in place. The textured side should be facing up. Place the new lens into place and secure back into place.

Light in Microwave burnd out glas broken over lights
Easy peasy - removed lens holder w/screw driver. Cleaned cover after removing damaged glass lens. Then unscrewed burnt out light bulbs. Installed new bulbs, slid in new light lens into holder and screwed back into bottom of microwave. Removed greasy filter and slid in new filter. Done!
I first read the previously posted directions from other customers that were sent with my part order confirmation, which were all very helpful. Then, I basically used a screw driver to unscrew the screw holding the lens cover in place - be careful as it is a very tiny screw and it can easily fall behind your oven. You might want to place
... Read morea large piece of cardboard over the space between oven and wall, as I did, so that you don't lose the screw in case it falls. Next I pried open the prongs, carefully slid out the cracked lens, and slid the new lens in place, pushed back the prongs and put the screw back in. I found that it was easier to use my fingers to first place and tighten the screw because it is very small and will keep falling out of place if you try to just use the screwdriver. Good luck!

Glass lens and two light bulbs replacements
My microwave is built in above the stove which provides lighting and fans for my stove. The glass lens cover for the lighting was cracked in several places and the light bulbs had burned out. I taped the glass lens for removal so it didn't break apart due to the cracks Removed the one screw. .Both light bulbs broke away from the base sock
... Read moreets as I tried to unscrew them. I used electrical tape wrapping in reverse on a lightbulb (socket end) so it was sticky for a grip on the base, shoved it in the sockets and was unable to unscrew the broke off bases. So it was very successful and no repair man was needed.
I usually replace the charcoal filter in the Microwave one every 3 months. this light out looked confusing and complicated at first, however I was surprised how easy it was when you have proper tools and directions from fellow Do It Yourselfers.
All one has to do is use a screw driver to remove the screws, one per lens. Then lower the lens bracket, bend the 4 tabs holding the lens, remove and replace the lens and screw the brackets back in place.

Light bulb was burnt out and lens was broken
Unscrewed the lens, it hinged down, then I could remove the frame. Pulled old bulb out and replaced with new one. Replaced broken glass in frame. Reset hinge into the holes and swung it up into place. Screwed it in.
Lens Was Not Sized To Fit And Was Left Extremely Sharp
Had to take to a local glass shop for sizing and to remove sharp edges. Will never order again.
