I have a Kenmore elite front load dryer model # 41781102002. I have replaced the thermal exhaust flush limiter, safety thermostat and the thermal heater limiter. It's still shutting down after 5 minutes with the call service error code. The vent isn't blocked. I can run it with the vent completely off and it still shuts down. Any suggestions?

Hello Kris, thank you for your question. I would suggest replacing the thermistor, part number 134711300 and the thermal fuse part number 134711401. The thermistor is located in the blower wheel housing and the thermal fuse is located on the vent duct from the blower to the back of the unit. I hope this helps!

What is the "room temp" ohm reading supposed to be for this unit. You previously gave me that information for the inlet thermistor (#134711200) just wondering if this outlet side is the same, or different since it is a different part number. (#134711300)

Hi Allen, thank you for your follow up. There is no difference. Depending on the room temperature of your room, the part should be reading around 11 ohms. Good luck with your repair.

My dryer will always start up but shuts off after a minute or two. If I select air fluff it does not shut down. I get a ce (check exhaust) in the display. I’ve checked the exhaust is very clean to the outside. Parts replaced have been, computer board and the sensor in the blower motor area. Also the sensor in the middle back of machine ( has a blue short wire on it). I just recently put the flush thermal exhaust limiter ( it’s attached to the exhaust pipe before it exhausts machine. Any ideas on this issue? Thanks.

Hi Curt, Thank you for your question. If your dryer shuts off after a few minutes and you have already replaced the electronic control board and the sensor, you will need to check the thermal fuse. We hope this helps! Good luck with the repair!

Hello, our dryer isn't giving us any trouble codes but there's a worry that the lower left exterior cabinet becomes very hot ( infra-red thermometer reading of 170-175 degrees). Does this seem normal? The clothes dry fine and everything else seems fine. We have cleaned the entire machine, ducts and vents and there's no lint accumulation anywhere. Thank you for your thoughts.

Hello Fred, Thank you for your inquiry. The high limit thermostat is what keeps the dryer from overheating, so if you test the thermostat with a multimeter and the reading is anything but close to 0, then you should replace it. You should test the thermistor and heating element as well. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, we have videos available to assist you. Good luck with your repair.

I have a Kenmore elite front loading dryer, model 41781100000. When i start the dryer, it will run/heat for 5 10 minutes and then the dryer shuts off and gives an error code to call service. My wife recalls that previous to this seeing an error code "ce" that per the manual is check exhaust. From what I've read it seems that either the thermistor or the high limit thermostat. Is there a way to test these to know which part needs to be replaced. Any other ideas for fixes?

Hi Neihl, Thank you for the question. The dryer is turning off as a safety measure to prevent over heating. This happens when the exhaust has a blockage or is not giving proper air flow. I suggest cleaning out the exhaust pipe that leads outside. This hose should sit flat and not have any dips or turns. Condensation and lint gets built up and prevents the air to flow properly. I also suggest checking the outside vent to make sure it is not blocked. Birds and other small animals like to make a nest in there. Until the air flow with the exhaust is addressed the appliance will continue to turn off. Hope this helps!
