This heater sheath is the bake element, also known as a heating element, in electric ranges. It is an OEM approved part that can be found on the lower portion of the oven cavity. The bake element is responsible for generating and evenly distributing the heat needed to bake food items. Over time the element can corrode, or become damaged, leading to uneven heating, increased energy consumption, higher risk of burns, and electrical hazards. Begin this repair by disconnecting the power supply and removing any oven racks that may be in the way. Unclip the faulty bake element and pull it out of the appliance. Install the new part and ensure it is securely in place before using the appliance again.
