My part 63235 seems to just turn freely on the rod that it attaches to.It appears to have very small gear like teeth inside the agitator that fit on the spline of the rod.. they have partially sheared off ( I think). Is this common on this agitator? It seems to be a very weakly made part to turn a washer load of clothes.I am wondering if the replacement agitators are of tougher stuff or if I am misdiagnosing the cause of the problem. Also, the screw that holds the agitator to the rod does not hold it when screwed down tight.
For model number RTW4640YQ1
Hi Ron, Thank you for the question. If the teeth are wore off I do suggest replacing the agitator. It also sounds like the threads that hold the bolt are stripped. We see this mostly with overloading the appliance. I also suggest checking the Spanner Nut,PartSelect Number PS11738884 to see if it is still in good condition and the bolt that holds the agitator, Part Number: PS10067065. Hope this helps!

Does the agitator cap for this one just pry off with a screwdriver?
For model number RTW4640YQ1
Hi Michael,
Thank you for the question, yes the cap will just lift off. You can use a flat head screw driver to pry it off.
Hope this helps!

I’m noticing tiny holes in my knitwear after washing. I don’t see any symptom that relates.
For model number SAWX650MQ2
Hi Joanne,
Thank you for your question. If you are noticing tiny holes in your clothing, they may be snagging on something in the washer. You will need to check and see if there is anything in the washer that they could snag on. If this is not the issue, make sure you are washing like clothes together and make sure they are being washed on the proper cycle. For example, delicates or a setting without a spin cycle. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

This is a Admiral washing machine i have taken the cap and bolt off the agitator and i can not pull it off, i have pulled really hard, and i’m afraid of breaking something, do they pry off hard? Or is there a trick
For model number ATW4676BQ0
Hi Wayne,
Thank you for your question. If you have removed the cap and the agitator bolt and the agitator will not come out, you may try using a 2x4 plank as a lever to try and remove it. Through use, the chemicals in the soaps you use to wash your clothes, can harden around the base of the agitator making it hard to move. If this does not help, you will need contact an appliance repair technician to assist you. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Agitator bolt will not come off, it will turn like it should be coming off but it doesn't do anything. Why is this? Is there another way to remove this bolt or am I overlooking something?

The agitator was not spinning.
I took a straight screwdriver and popped off the cap on top of agitator. Then used a ratchet with an extender and loosened and took out the bolt in the agitator. Then pulled the agitator straight up and inserted the new one.

Found washer to not agitate, washer was making a noise like grinding plastic on metal type noise. Was not sure what was causing noise until finally realizing that agitator was not agitating during wash cycle. To verify concern I removed old agitator assembly and marked top of input shaft and turned
Removed cover from dasher assembly and removed 7/16 bolt, removed agitator assembly and reinstalled new dasher assembly and installed new 7/16 bolt with washer included. Installed cover and tested washer. Washer worked normal again

Perfect agitator
The part was perfect but installing was a pain. You have to use an impact wrench to remove bolt on agitator or else you can't get it off. After using impact wrench, took not even 5 minutes to change it out.
