My fridge 6wsc20c6yb00 stops cooling and i checked the freezer wall was all iced up. I defrost it and works fine for a few weeks and the the same thing again fridge warm and freezer iced !! its only 4yrs old and don’t know what’s the issue to keep icing... can u plz help

Hello Fayez, thank you for your question. If the freezer continues to freeze up after you've defrosted it there are a parts you will want to test/replace. The Defrost Thermostat PartSelect Number: PS11740424, the Bi-Metal defrost thermostat part number W10260440 as well as the defrost heater part number W10251473. If these parts are tested and are not faulty, the issue could be with the electronic control board part number WPW10372212. I hope this information helps!

Loud noise coming from the top center of the refrigerator interior. There is plastic housing there. Is this covering the fan blade? If so, how do i remove the housing to replace the blade? Thank you
For model number AFD2535DEB

Hello Carmen, Thank you for the question. The housing is held in by a few clips. You can depress the clips with a flat head screw driver to release them and pop the housing off. Hope this helps!

My refrigerator is making a loud screeching noise. It appears to be coming from the freezer. In addition, the refrigerator is only one year old. Please advise as your site is recommending it may be the evaporator fan motor.
For model number 106.51139214

Hello Arlene, thank you for your question. The screeching noise is most likely the evaporator fan motor that is located behind the back wall of the freezer section. I would suggest replacing the motor, which is

Is this just the fan blade, do i need other parts to do the job. My freezer is not cold enough middle to bottom of freezer is frozen solid. Top two shelfs not freezing temp is at 26 f.
For model number MQF1656TEW02

Hi Ron,
Thank you for your question. There are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the fan blade, the evaporator fan motor, the defrost heater, the defrost timer and the bi-metal defrost thermostat. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My refrigerator coil freezes up / freezer side is fine.
For model number KRSC503ESS01

Hi Michael,
Thank you for your question. Frost on the evaporator coils will prevent air from flowing over the coils. No air flow will cause the refrigerant in the coils to remain in a liquid state and keep it from vaporizing. The refrigerant will travel past the coils and will eventually end up in the compressor and cause damage to it. If there is frost on the evaporator coils, this may caused by the following:
1. A bad defrost heater or the other components of the defrost system.
(The defrost system consists of the defrost heater, the defrost timer and the thermostat/defrost control.)
2. High Humidity
3. An evaporator fan motor not working correctly or not at all.
4. No load on the evaporator coil.
5. Dirty evaporator coils.
6. Defrost intervals that are set too far apart. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Loud noise on the motor at top of fridge. Sounds like a filter or blade issue if that is where the fan fits
For model number Kitchen aid KFCS22EVMS8

Hello, Thank you for your question. There are 2 fans in your model. One is the back of the unit to blow cool air over the refrigerator and freezer, and the other is in the back near the compressor that blows the coils. We hope this helps.

Noisy Evaporator Motor/Fan
Our 48" Built-In KitchenAid Frig (1999 model)started getting very noisy about 3 years ago. Two different repairmen plus KitchenAid said 'that was the way it was'. I figured out the noise was coming from the evaporator motor/fan but the repairmen said it was just because moisture was freezing on it and replacing the evaporator motor/fan probably would not make a difference plus it would be very expensive. When I discovered PartSelect and that I could order the parts (about $80) myself I thought why not. It was simple to replace. Removed cover inside freezer compartment - detached bracket and electrical wires - replaced with new motor and fan. Now you can hardly hear the frig running and it runs half the time - more efficient. I can't believe we lived with that noise for so long. Thanks to PartSelect I proved KitchenAid and the repaiirmen wrong and did it myself! Thank you PartSelect!

about half my time was spent figuring out how drawer front and back panel were held in:
remove wire baskets
lift freezer drawer front to remove
remove ice maker...held in by 3 screws, then unplug
remove back panel screws
then on this model, there is a vent towards the top of the panel that is held in by unseen plastic clips on the top left and top right that had to be pressed in with a screwdriver to remove
unplug freezer evap motor also held together by clips
remove and replace motor (old fan blade pulls off and slides on new motor shaft)
plug motor back in
reinstall back panel
reinstall ice maker
reinstall drawer front and baskets

Not the part we expected
We were told this part would be the equivalent to the part we needed. It was not. We also paid for overnight shipping and got the part a week later. Now we had to ship it back and paid for the shipping to ship back the incorrect part. Will not be ordering from this company again.

refridge fan motor
this part was ridiculous. it had to be shipped from china and cost whopping .$.25 or that is all it is worth.i did not even attempt to use it cause my 2000. fridge could not possibly need or be fixed with this cheesy part. i paid $33. for this stupid part. this company should be ashamed of their selves for selling this for that price. a 3 inch round piece of plastic weighing in at a whopping 3oz. could not possibly be worth the mailing price. what a joke. this company ripped me off.
