Maytag microwave , when we put something in the microwave first it works just fine. When we put something else in right after that it won't turn on and the inside light is off and it's flashing on the panel to open/ reclose the door. But it still won't come on until the inside light comes on. Then we close the door and it works fine. Thank you for your time and help. Terry

Hi Terry,
Thank you for your question. Based on what you described the issue is likely one of the door switches and you will need to test each of them with a multimeter to see which one is causing the issue. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The bottom door latch switch is no longer holding the door closed. What part am I looking for?
For model number KMHC319ESS0
Hello Bruce,
Thanks for your question. You may need the door switch, part number PS10057151. However, this part should only be tested and replaced by a licensed technician as the microwave can contain electrical charges even when the microwave is unplugged.
I hope this helps.
Our microwave/range hood keeps flashing "open/close door" but will not operate despite repeated opening and closing. Feel it may be a door latch or perhaps the door itself needs to be leveled or realigned.

Hi Jan, Thank you for the question. Only way to know for sure is to check the latch assembly to make sure there is no damage or a switch that may have came out of place. If the door is sitting level and the latch is good, you will need to test the switches with a multi meter to determine if they are defective. Hope this helps!

The top latch of my microwave is broken. It is apparently the female part as the male part of the door fits into it. I can not find my book to get a part number.

Hi Cheryl,
Thank you for your question. The part you are looking for is the top interlock support that the door switches fit into. The part number listed under your model number for the top interlock support is PS11745301. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Hi: Our microwave has done this a couple of times where the door isn't quite latching and even though its closed, the microwave reads that its not latched. I ended up taking a needle nose, going into the small holes where the door latches and pulling the two white plastic "catches" forward in order to get it working. What part would i need for this. I could send you a photo if that would help. Thank you.

Hello and thank you for writing.
It certainly sounds like it could be faulty door switches PS2361111 and PS2361113 and PS11749178 you should check the part(s) for signs of damage or test with a multimeter, and replace the part(s) as needed. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.
The door latch seems to be broken. You have to jiggle it to get microwave to work. Or jiggle it to get the microwave to turn off. Is this a replaceable part.
