The water inlet and dispenser valve is used in washing machines. The function of this part is to control and monitor the amount of water flow into the washer. If there is leaking during use, your machine will not fill with water, or there is no hot or cold water entering the washer, it is important to replace the water valve to solve the problem. For this repair, you will need a Phillips head screwdriver and a flathead screwdriver. For installation instructions, refer to the manual provided by the manufacturer. Remember to unplug your appliance from the power source before beginning this repair.

This repair was pretty simple. Unplug washer from electrical outlet and remove hoses. This is a good time to replace the hoses. There are two rubber grommets/gaskets that will need to be removed from the faulty part and installed on the new part. Slide new assembly into place. Secure with the two screws. Replace retainer plate. Reattach power connections. Reattach hoses and finally Reinstall top of washer. Total time was right around 30 minutes.

Water pooled in machine when not in use with door left open and turned off.
I unplugged the washer, turned off hot and cold water at the source. I wrenched off the 2 hoses from the washer (have a towel handy for the residual water in the hoses and keep them elevated until you can drain the residual water out into drain site, where you turn off the water supply). I removed the 2 screws that held the top panel on (
... Read moreback side top corners) & slide off top to see interior. I used screw driver to pop off plastic piece that secures 3 tubes (hot water, cold water & exhaust vent). I then unplugged all 3 wire harnesses from the water valve & temperature wire from left side [assuming you are standing at the back of the machine where you have to be to do all this work]. I then untwisted the exhaust vent plastic tube (large cream tube at far right in machine) & somehow managed to get it pulled out. I then unscrewed the 2 screws from the old water valve- one on left is easy, the one on the right is difficult due to lower position next to exhaust vent - I had to hold my other hand [thankfully I have small hands] under the screw location as my screwdriver was not magnetic so I wouldn't drop the screw into the machine). I then removed the valve assembly by pulling slowly backward & removed. I then just reversed the above to replace the new one. Not bad for my 1st washer fix ever. I've used it 5 cycles now and no issues.

I had tried to clean the small basket type screens at the rear of the inlet valve but both of them disintegrated

crack in plastic housing
first removed top of machine. removed 3 valve core wires set. Then removed left top screw on valve. Then removed vent tube to get to lower right screw. disconnected hose connect rack so valve housing could be removed & new installed. Rapped insulation around valve & installed. Put everything back together in reverse order.

Water leaking from inlet hose area.
Close examination revealed cracked plastic inlet area. I removed top of machine any carefully was able to loosen an pull damaged (froze over the winter) part back to remove. Attachment screws difficult to access, had to use magnetic screwdriver attachment during reassembly. Always iffy when working with plastic parts. Part arrived

My Electrolux/Frigidaire washer works great, have replaced door lock failure already but now i have a drum filled with water about once every three weeks when i come down to do laundry. Yesterday it was all over the floor which i guess tells me the boot may be leaking too, and that the water is still coming in when i walk away. Is this likely the water inlet value?

My washer leaks and it looks like it comes from underneath the machine and not sure where to start. I do not think its coming from the door as the water never runs out of there during the whole cycle.

Hello.
The cold water will not shut off when the machine is started and continue to run non stop even when the machine is set to off .
This happens on each setting. I’ve tried unplugging the power to reset the machine but that didn’t help.

House is on a well system. Water quality is soft. During water fill cycles, the water flow is slow, and machine shuts down on E10 code (no water). This has always been a problem with this machine when the machine is full; however, it now happening on smaller loads. Water supply line is 1/2", and hoses are 3/4". Water pressure is above 30 PSI

All lights flash and beep when machine is off. Must unplug after each use. Also has a code e41. Already replaced lock and switch. Any help would be appreciated. Ready to throw in garbage. Only 7 years old.

Hi Bob, Thank you for the question. If the valve is getting power but not releasing water into the tub it may need to be replaced. PartSelect Number: PS1145692. If the valve is good you may have a defective control board, PartSelect Number: PS3492720. Hope this helps!

My washing machine will go through it complete washing cycle but at the end of the washing cycle the door stays locked and the cold water starts to fill up in the machine. The only way to stop it is to un plug the machine. But when i plug it back in to power the cold water starts filling it up again. Is this the water inlet valve that's causing the problem. I have a lot of sand in my water and it has got into the inlet valve.
