replace door recess and spring
After seeing the exploded view diagram, disassembly was a snap... litterly. Took only a few minutes and a couple of screw drivers.

Remove the snap in cover plate, remove four screws, remove controller, then replace parts.

The ice maker is not allowing the ice to come out of the front, i was told the spring was broken and this part would fix it.. does this sound accurate

Hello Don, thank you for your question. Yes, if the spring is broken it will not open the ice door flapper to allow ice to come out of the unit. If the ice is dispensing but the door is not opening this could be the issue. If the ice is not dispensing down the ice chute, there could be another problem besides the spring. I hope this helps!
