Ice/Water Actuator Broken
Part broke during normal usage. Removed ice/water dispenser face plates by drilling out rusted screws (original should have been stainless). Removed dispenser assembly to work bench. Stuffed paper towels in ice chute to keep heat from entering into freezer section. Tried to epoxy old actuator, but was unsuccessful. Actuator broken at it's weakest point. Ordered part number as identified in the parts breakdown. Received wrong part. The right part had to be back ordered. Repaired plastic areas out old rusted screws. Bought all new stainless screws. Received actuator after 10 days. Installed part in dispenser at work bench. Installed dispenser in reverse order. Problem solved. Note, care should be taken to remember the order of removing parts ot make sure the assembly does not bind the switches.
Real simple repair..just backed off the two 1/4" hex bolts holding the ice maker to the wall of the fridge,(a little tricky since you can't see them),unclipped the electrical doo hickey. I re-clipped the electrical do hickey of the new ice maker, hung the ice maker on the bolts and then re-tightened them. However,still no ice,my problem was the water valve on the back of the fridge behind the cardboard. Although it was still giving H2O thru the door it was not allowing water to flow to the ice maker. I reccommend pouring some water into the ice tray of the ice maker. If it makes ice and dumps it in to the holder, your ice maker is OK. If it turns out to be your water valve, that fix is easy as well. I HIGHLY reccommend watching the "fix it" video associated with that part. That repair also took less than 15 minutes. Good Luck! Removed basket to access rail...used nut driver to remove screws from exisiting rail (BE SURE TO SAVE!!!!) Lined up new rail and replaced screws.......replaced basket....SUPER SIMPLE!!!!!!
The defrost timer is faily easy to replace, first unplug the unit, then remove the toe gaurd, then lay on the floor with your light and phillips screwdriver, locate the 2 screws at the lower left side, remove them and the timer and it's shield will drop down. unplug the old timer, plug the new one in and re-install everything. The temp sensor is located in the back of the freezer compartment. Again make sure the unit is unplugged, remove freezer shelves and lower basket, then with a 1/4" nut driver, remove the screws holding the rear panel on, remove the panel and locate the sensor on the upper evaporator tube, unclip it and disconnect the 2 wires, reverse procedure and plug it back in. Not to get on a soap box, but this is the 3rd time i have had the same problem with this unit, plus several other problems.

Removed the back panel of the freezer. Unplugged the defrost cycle thermostat and replace with a new one. Removed the bottom cover in front of the refrer. removed the defrost timer, plugged new timer in. manually tripped the defrost timer. checked the defrost heater for operation. Checked OK, replaced covers, works like a champ
the slider broke on the drawer and couldn't move in or out.
front of old drawer needed a little persuasion at coming off, but once I figured out all I needed was a small screw driver to seperate the front from the drawer, it slid right off. Was a simple fix and a lot less than calling service repair.
removed top hinge,lifted door off,replaced bottem hinge and door..did not help..repeated above and placed washer on bottem hinge which lifted door and let swing freely.
We moved the refrigerator out so the drawer could be removed. (It was close to the wall) After removing the drawer the front of it had to be removed, then put on to the new drawer. The hardest part was that replacement because we had trouble getting it lifted up. Then the drawer was put in, refilled, and refrigerator moved back into place.

Remove front cover below door, remove 2 screws attaching the defrost timer to the refrigerator frame. Unplug wiring harness plug from timer an install new one. Remove metal cover in back of the freezer compartment. unpug the two wires going to the thermostat, remove the thermostat { thermostat is held onto the cooling coil with a clip} , remove thermostat and replace with new one
ordered new drawer, removed the clear plastic front piece from old one and installed on the new one. It was delivered only one or two days after I ordered it and was in perfect condition. Excellent service.
