Followed the instructions on package, went extremely well, with no problems what so ever! Thanks so much for the part and how to do list!

First thing was to diagnose the problem. After researching the web, symptoms led me to believe it was the evaporator fan. To which the bushings in the electric motor had worn out, causing the motor to make the growling noise when cycling. After isolating the problem researched the repair tutorials online for information. Everything went well allbeit some things about the repair were a little different as you will find it difficult to find any particular appliance repair specific to your exact model appliance on line. So the general information about how to needs to be enough. My repair was a minor one and the general information was all I needed. The replacement part wasn't exactly OEM but it was well thought out in particular the wires were a little longer than original, which worked well for my situation as the replacement part wire connections were on the opposite side from the original. Also the wire connectors "clips" were an exact match to the original. All in all extraction of worn part and replacement of new went very well. The only real difficulty and it is a small one was one needed to be meticulous whiten doing this repair.

First I entered my model #, then picked the symptom, then went with the odds when presented with the likely suspects. The run capacitor, and bi-metal defrost timer had the highest % of guilt. Most of the time was spent defrosting the coils with a hair dryer. The run capacitor took 3 minutes to remove and replace. I snipped out the old defrost timer and used butt connectors to wire up the new one. The old timer flunked the continuity test when placed in salted ice water. The freezer/fridge runs like new, for about $66. The run capacitor was probably ok but I left the new one in, being too lazy to send it back. "Part Select" was a great partner in helping to fix my machine.

My Son who is not an appliance repairman did it for me. He had some difficulty getting the nuts and bolts loose mainly. Sorry I'm not much help other than that! I would like to compliment you on your fast service, first time ordering from you and it was for an older model refrigerator that my repairman said he couldn't find. It's working fine now and I'm a satisfied customer!

opened box,read directions,took out bad motor,installed new one.PRESTO CHANGO way to go.

Snapped in new end caps and attahed existing shelf bar. Have done this twice. We tend to stuff too many items on that bottom shelf.

I folded in half twice! and took the back off the fridge(cardboard) and took one brace off and just took the screws off the fan from the other two braces. Turned the fan enough to get at the wires for the fan and cut them off an inch from the old fan, stripped the insulation and wire nutted them to new fan. Make sure they don't interfere with the new fan and put the new fan in place put the screws in and we're making ice and cold fridge again.

The fix was easy. I jacked up the unit and put on blocks. I used socket and ratchet removed the wheels. Reinstall new ones and let off the blocks.

Moved fridge out from wall, unplugged power cord. Laid on floor, removed 6 screws from cover. Removed one threaded bolt to allow assembly to slide out. Removed special nut, and took fan off. Removed 3 motor mounting bolts. Unscrewed 2 wire nuts, and untwisted wires. (option 1, no ground) Vacuumed entire area around motor. Used 3 bolts to mount motor to holder assembly, and special nut to install fan. Stripped wires back about 3/4 inch. Twisted two wires together CW, and installed new wire nuts. Slid motor assembly back into slot,(keep wires away from blades) and used one threaded bolt to secure assembly. Reinstalled cover plate with 6 screws. Plugged power cord in to test air flow (out through cover vents). Moved fridge back into place. The loud whirring noise did not stop for a day; then quiet!

I was pleased with the new ice maker and how soon I received it. I was disappointed because there were NO installation instructions that came with it. There were only service instructions that came with it. I contacted partselect and was told that they get the part from whirlpool and they are responsible for everything and was given a phone number to call. I called Whirlpool and was informed that they don't provide installation instructions, I said that on the web page is boldly displayed an installation instruction sheet. Whirlpool said that they expect that the installation person knows what they are doing. I let it go and was very careful taking the old one out and installing the new ice maker and the new pump.

Very easy to replace. Disconnect water line. remove 2 screws pull out filler tube. replace with new one.
