Broken Ice Funnel
Tips: Watch the video on installing ice flapper installation. when removing trim, watch how he does it in the video VERY closely -you bend the trim towards the outside to disengage the clips, if you just pull out you will break the clips. the light had fused the plastic sides to the inside of the dispenser housing so the judicious application of force was required to get the white plastic housing out. when installing the new funnel, be sure the tab goes behind the switch and the spring goes around the pivot opposite the switch with the leg of the spring on top of the white plastic housing. (My funnel fell out in pieces so I had no idea how it was originally installed.)

Noisy Howl from Freezer "Awwwwooouuuuuuu" (Repeat)
Parts were perfect. Shipment great. It took a bit of time to get back to the Evaporator fan, so i basically had to take the entire freezer apart. Not a problem. The one issue i ran into was my unit had 2 white wires which connected to a silver bullet thing, that were not included in the wiring harness. Maybe I could have ordered that part (thinking out loud) I had to cut the old one apart, and adapt them into the new one, which had 2 holes to spare for this purpose. I guess i could have spliced every wire, but didn't. The freezer now SOUNDS LIKE A FREEZER. Thanks,

ice falling out of the door onto floor
Ordered part using the schematic, it got here the next day!! Took out the ice bin, using the 2 butter knives, I pried the side clips and slipped the dispenser out, , I removed the broken plate, and carefully threaded the auger into the hole of the new plate, slid it into the dispenser and seated clips, placed back into ice bin and attached the 3 screws on the bottom to hold in place! A 70 yr old lady repairman, who would have thought it.

Ice would not despence - Ice maker auger would not turn
Refer model was older than repair instructions given for job. So the repair could have been done by simply unclipping the forward auger gear box & pulling it up and out of the ice tray unit. However we had to figure that out for ourselves & the gear box resisted most attempts @ prying it out. It eventually gave (with no breakage) & it was then easy to pull the auger from the rear housing & replace the drive cup. With all items refitted together the gear box slipped easily back into the tray housing & the auger w/ new drive cup slipped into it's rear housing.

Frost buildup in Freezer, Fridge too warm. Fan running too long
According to PartSelect website, the probably cause was Temperature Sensor or Defrost Thermostat. I watched the replacement videos. . .. very nice and seemed easy. Ordered the parts and got within 3 days (nice!). I followed the procedure on the video for disassembly, I used a hair dryer to melt the ice buildup on coils and then cut the old Sensor and Thermostat out of the wire harness and, instead of using crimper to seal my new splices, I soldered them instead. I used shrink wrap sleeves, then wrapped in electrical tape for permanent insulation. My Fridge now functions like new again. Thanks Partselect! You are the best!

All refrigerator functions stopped working except for the interior lights. No cooling or freezing, front control panel lights were off, no water was dispensed, ice maker not producing ice, etc.
Pulled out the refrigerator, removed the bottom panel cover to expose motherboard panel. Removed mother board panel, followed instuctions on YouTube to replace the motherboard: I plugged the fridge in after the motherboard was installed and the compressor fired up and everything was working again.

No water to ice maker or water dispenser.
Checked to make sure it wasn't a plumbing problem. Then made aide sure the filter wasn't plugged. Then went to Parts Direct's web site. According to their information, the most likely problem was the duel inlet water valve. I followed to video instructions provided on the web site...finished the job in less than 15 minutes...and solved the problem. I will certainly be using your service in the future!

Food freezing in the refrigerated section.
It was pretty straight forward. Be very careful removing the top panel above the light, it slides forward about a half inch. Be gentle, the plastic tabs can be easily broken and then the top piece will sag and fall off easily. Everything else was screwed into place and pretty easy to take apart and put back together.

Frost build up in ice chute
Simple repair. On this 2004 model the button panel is removed by pulling lower part of panel out and down. No need to remove bezel. Remove four screws and a quick switch out of parts! I added an extra half hour to install as I cleaned the flapper area, ice shoot, etc.

Home repair reported bad main electrical control board
Upon receiving the original GE part from Part Select, I read the installation instruction and specific bulletins with in the document then proceeded with removing & replacing the main electric control board. Being an original GE part save a lot of time due to all wiring coupling to board was identical to original so it was simple as unplugging several wire coupling and plugging in to new board. This was extremely easy and I finished in 15 minutes which saved me at least $500 compared to the in home repair service or having to buy a $1500 new refrigerator.
