Followed video step by step. Perfect instructions. I’d only add that you should get and wear mechanics gloves. My hands got torn up by the sharp metal edges taking apart and putting it back together. Removed back panel of the dryer-reached my hand to the back of the motor shaft, put 7/16 wrench on it to hold the shaft while I removed the broken pulley with pliers. Very easy fix-the tech on Utube took the entire dryer apart totally unnecessary. If that is what the factory tells its tech"s to do its no wonder why the labor charge would be thru the roof.
I don't have instructions ,I watched the link provided by parts select. I just wanted to say I have never been a wiz at home repairs.it took so long because I am 62 with autheritis in my hands and the dryer had to be taken down to a motor and a base but I took the time to clean every inch of the dryer scary to see so much dryer lint inside the dryer.i am just going to say if I can do it anybody could fix their own dryer ,just take your time ,let your hands take a break. And keep the repair instructions close by
Went to Kenmore website, got parts diagram, watched You Tube videos on dryer repair for this model, ordered parts. When parts arrived (in 4 days, great job!), re-watched You Tube videos, installed parts, dryer works great. Took longer than industry standards because I had to suction out/vacuum a great deal of lint/hair. as I went along.
I watched your instruction video, which by the way, 1. was not for my model dryer and 2. was totally opposite of what you showed. I was able to remove the back and replace it from there versus going in from the front and removing the drum, etc etc
I removed the bottom access panel, with 2 hands i reached in behind the blower, i released the belt, i used a screwdriver to pop the retainer from the pully spindle, i removed and replaced the pully, i snapped the retainer back on and replaced the belt. I made sure the belt was on track and all was good. I put the bottom panel back on, it took all of 5 minutes. The hardest part was the retainer clip faces the rear of the dryer so you have to feel it. Also , the space is tight, use a smaller flathead screwdriver to get behind the clip, it will pop right off.
Loud squealing when the dryer was running...especially on start up.
Simply followed the video that accompanied the part confirmation. Removed the top and front of the dryer. Removed the drum and belt. Unbolted (1 bolt) the Idler pulley and bracket and bolted on the new one. Reversed the sequence of disassembly and tried it out. The only minor difficulty was slipping the belt over the idler pulley after the drum was in place. This is where a second set of hands might be helpful to hold up the drum, while the other person puts the belt in place. Other than that, this was a simple repair and probably saved a couple hundred dollars for about 1.5 hours of my time. Thanks for the video...it was right on point, and made the job much easier.
Replacing broken glass dryer drawer from a sharp golf ball size rock from kids.
Glass door was broken with part still in door. -put tape on glass so it would not fall on me as I dissembled door. -removed and disassembled door by removing all screws/ torx. -used shop vac to get most of the shards out then flushed with water for the rest. -used shop vac to dry door. -put back together. remember to put big bulge of glass down. the rounded part of the door is the bottom. do not over tighten as the screws go into plastic. -all skill levels can do this job. it will only go together one way. the glass has a notch bulge that alines with the bracket. worst case is you have to put it together 3 times before you get it right. the door is reversible so it can open either to the right or the left giving you four combinations on how to install the glass. don't over tighten the phillips as they go into plastic. Go for it.
Remove top, front and drum. Top is removed by sliding a putty knife under the front corners and pushing the tabs back. Front is held with screws. Disconnect two electrical connectors. Rollers are easily accessible and changed.
So I was unable to get my model number so I took the hinge off the washer and was able to order the part. Before removing the hinge I used a marker and marked the hinge location on the washer. Once I got the part I removed the T15 screws on the inside part of the door and separate the pieces. I was able to remove the white tube for all 4 of the pins and put them on the hinge. I installed the hinge an then i put the front door pieces back together again while it was laying on the floor. I though I put it in wrong but I was correct. Once i had the hinge on the door and the door reassembled, I was able to attached the hinge to the washer. The hinge comes off the washer by pushing up on it and to reinstall you push down. I tighten the 4 T25 screws using the marks on the washer and the door is alligned correctly. I am able to close the washer door with one finger instead of my whole hand.
Dryer was very loud and sounded like it was scraping
Took the back and top off of my front loader. I had checked on you tube for the problem and how to fix it and ordered the part. Just followed the directions on how to remove the old idle pulley and installing the new one. Dryer runs like new!
Replaced high limit thermostat and thermal cutoff. Dryer works like a champ. Reviewed couple of YouTube videos that showed clearly how to get to the effected parts, test them and replace them. I had an old front loading dryer once before that I repaired a couple of times but these parts were accessible by removing a panel on the rear of the unit. The procedure was more involved with this unit. After studying the videos and getting a feel for what was involved, the process, while involved, was fairly simple and putting the unit back together was also fairly easy. Replacement parts did the trick. Very happy.
