motor was making noise then started smoking ; motor burned out.
I moved the washer into the garage so I woud have space to work.Take off the front pannel and remove the v-belts.To remove the motor I had to spray some WD-40 on the motor mount scerws they were very rusty: soak them down real well.I remove the motor and the plate from the washer, besure to take the springs off the mounting bracket it will make the job alot easier.Remove the drive motor from the bracket and the pulley from the shaft. Reassemble all the parts and the job is finished(the wiring is pretty straight forward just reattatch the harness and plug into the motor.

Change belt
Unplugged washer from power source. Disconnected hose lines. Moved washer forward and tilted. Loosened 3 screws with nut driver and removed belt. Installed new belt per instructions. Adjusted belt tension and tightened 3 screws.Connected hoses. Moved washer back and plugged it in to the electrical outlet. It all went well as long as I don't get the wrong charge on my debit card. Thank you

faulty switch kept blowing internal fuse
disconnected and replaced switch. I ordered the switch one day and Fed Ex delivered it the next morning. Iam amazed at the quick service from this appliance supply store.

replaced water pump
The water pulley wheel kept seperating from the pulley shaft after numberous attempts with plumbers glue, the problem kept repeating therefor replacement was necessary. After ordering the part it was able to be replaced with the new pump and fast, washer running like new. Thank you so much.

Leaking water - the water inlet valve was bad
The repair is relatively easy. Shut off the water valves and remove the water hoses from the washer. Remove the inlet valve plate (one machine screw on my model). Carefully remove the control wires attached to the hot and cold solenoids. Remove the inlet filler hose by compressing the hose clamp. Remove the 2 screws holding the valve assembly on to the inlet plate. Attach the new valve assemble, the inlet filler hose and the control wires for the solenoids in the reverse order and finally connect the plate to the back of the washer. Puts some Teflon tape on the threads and re attached the supply hoses and turn the water back on. Observe for leaks and run through the cycles (both hot and cold to ensure the valve is working properly. Time for completion - 15/20 mins. If no leaks are observed, you are done.

Washer would fill with water then do nothing
I'm not a professional repair person, so diagnosis was more difficult than this repair was. A little research online and some smart investigation(and by smart I mean unplugging the washer before taking the access panel off); resulted in a less than $30 repair - compared to what would have been close to a $150 technicians visit and repair! Simply unplug the washer, unscrew the access panel, unscrew the lid check switch, screw in the new switch, put the panel back on, plug the washer in, and start the wash cycle. Seriously, less than 15 minutes!

The drain pump was flinging water out when it was draining.
I took the front panel off and was able to easily access and remove the leaking drain pump. Then I propped the front of the washer up onto some boards so that I could put the two pulleys back onto the new pump, then I just tightened the three bolts in order to tighten the pulleys. However,when I started another load of wash there was a leak in the bottom of the tub, so I removed the new pump and went out and bought a new washer, figuring that our 13-year-old Maytag was going to cost more to fix than to buy a new washer. Then I wrapped up the new pump and sent it back. Thanks for all your help and for letting me send back the new part...I received confirmation of my refund today. Bob Trautman

agitor did not turn
tilted the machine back 45 degress. took both belts off and replaced them with the 2 new ones. put some tension on the drive belt and put the machine back in place, did a test run and it worked great.

washer would spin but not drain
removed 2 screws holding on front panel,tilted machine back and remover belts checked stretch against new belts.stretch was minimal.removed 3 screws of pump from underneath machine.pump impeller was free slipping replaced pump installed new belts reattached front cover& started washing clothes again.less than 15 min to do everything
