When i pull the knob to start the washer, the water fills up to the right level, but then nothing happens. I replaced the fuse assembly, but it did not help. Not sure what other part i would need to get the washer to start the cycles. I would appreciate any help.

Washer will fill but that is the only function that works. I believe it may have been overloaded when it stopped working. Belts have been squeaking prior to stopping also.

Hi Bill, Thank you for the question. If the belts were the issue the appliance will still run but the drum woudl not move. If the appliance dose not start the wash cycle after it fills you may have a defective timer. The timer advances the appliance through the cycles. Hope this helps!

The button on top of lid does not depress anymore so spin cycle wont engage. Used screw driver in top to solve problem before but that wont work any longer. Will the lid check button you have available solve my problem?

Blowing fuses more frequently and now all the time. In past once lid was dropped or timer pulled on the water solenoid would not operate although the solenoid checked out as fine, then i discovered that the fuse was blown, so i replaced it and all was operational again. When this happened again i replaced the fuse and washer would operate a week or so and then stop until i replaced the fuse. Now fuses blow the second i put a new one in and either have the lid down and pull the timer or have the timer pulled and then drop the lid. Does this indicate a bad lid switch? And will a new one fix this issue? Thanks

My washer over fills & spills all over the floors on any setting whether i have it on small medium or large loads, if it’s on large... to prevent overfilling i have to manually turn the knob to small or off to prevent overfilling at the beginning of the washing cycle & on the rinsing cycle as well.

Hi Denise,
Thank you for your question. The water level switch is a pressure activated switch that is used to determine the correct water level in the tub. This part is normally located behind the control panel and will have a hose or air dome tube that connects it to the tub. On washers that use an electronic control, this switch may be located at the sump area below the tub. As the water fills in the tub it will compress the air in the tube and push against a diaphragm inside the switch. The switch will control the water inlet valve and turn the valve off at the correct water level. If the tube has a leak or is plugged, not enough pressure may be created to activate the switch and the washer may overfill. If the switch is defective it may also cause the machine to overfill.
To determine if the switch is bad, you should first eliminate the air dome hose as a problem. Look for signs of cracks or worn areas on the hose. Remove the hose and submerge in water. Seal one end and blow air into the other end and look for bubbles. Check for an obstruction in the hose as well. If the air dome hose appears to be ok, then the water level pressure switch may be defective. Inspect the switch for signs of a mechanical defect or debris plugging the hole in the inlet nipple. To test the switch contacts for continuity with a multi-meter, you will need to apply the proper amount of air pressure to the air dome tube and then look for the switch to go open circuit at that level. The easiest way to do this is to start the washer and allow it to fill to the normal level and then remove the power cord. Locate the pressure switch and remove the wires from the correct terminals and then perform the continuity test. There should be infinite resistance or an “open circuit” when the water level is correct. If not, then the switch is defective. There are some other parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will also need to check the water inlet valve, the air tube for tub fill volume, the hose clamps, the hose washers and screen inserts, and the lid check switch. I hope this helps. Washer works on small load setting only. Once i switch it to medium or large load, the water stops running when i close the lid. Would a lid check switch solve this issue?

Fills and agitates fine. Water drains when it spins but it begins to squeak about the time the water is emptied. Squeak gets worse after 30 seconds (more of a squeal then) as spin gets slower. Think it eventually comes to a stop. Squeak/squeal sounds more like a bearing/bushing than a belt to me. What is the likely culprit and how do I troubleshoot?

Hi Rob, thank you for your question. There is a spring release mechanism underneath of the control panel on the right and left hand corners. All you have to do is take a pair of pliers and squeeze each spring while gently tugging on the panel to pull it out of place on one side. Washer was dead and would not turn on
Well the washer died and would not turn on in the middle of a wash cycle. Absolutely dead. I disconnected it from power and opened up the front panel on which all the control switches and knobs are mounted. This is removed by unscrewing 4 screws at the top of the washer.
Checked the fuse, and found blown. Replaced the fuse, closed the panel and plugged it in. Still not working. Checked the Check switches and found the Check Switch really limp. Checked with Digital Multimeter and found no continuity at either position. Unscrewed the check switch. Removal and re inspection with DMM of the check switch confirmed it was bad. Opened up the check switch and found contacts were blown.
Installed a new check switch making sure all the connecting wires go in the right places. The wiring diagram in the washer was very helpful in doing so since u dont want these wires reversed. Adjusted the plunger which operates the check switches when the lid is opened to make sure it is not over or under operating the switches. This is done by loosening the bolt holding down the check switch assembly and slidint the whole assembly forwards or backwards till the plunger has just enough push on the switches. This is done to avoid the plunger from exerting excessive pressure on the check switch and the safety switch in lid open or lid closed position. (both switches are operated by the same plunger according to the lid position)
Closed panel cover and plugged the washer in. There u go, it was alive again!

The washer wouldn't start after the tub filled with water.
Unpluged the washer and removed the top cover. Removed the screws holding the switches and unplug the wires. The process was very easy and the washer worked like a new one.
because the lid check switch was broken or expired - my washer would not go on and I have a baby!

washer would stop in mid cycle
Determined that the lid switch was not completing the circuit. I then removed the 3 wires from their posts along with the 1 screw and removed the bad switch. Then, in reverse order installed the new switch. The part was 1/3rd the cost of the part sold locally. I ordered the part at 3:15pm Monday afternoon and it arrived at 1:00pm Tuesday- the next day. UNBELEIVABLE SERVICE....!

filled with water, would not wash nor spin
After I replaced the timer, the washer still would not wash or spin. So my son replaced the lid check switch. It was hard to remove the screw, but he finally managed to remove it and easily replaced the switch. The washer works perfectly. We kept the timer installed (also easy to do by removing the old and replacing it with the new by just unplugging wires and I think one screw) because the old one had not worked properly for a few years when I had a similar problem which resolved, except it would only work in main cycle with soaking which was sufficient for me. This large capacity washer is in good shape and I hope will last at least another 5 - 10 years. ).

Washer would fill but not continue the cycle
I looked at the common problems in the owners manual and one item was the lid was not closed or the lid switch was bad. I took off the control panel and there was a schematic inside. This showed 2 lid switches. When trying to see if one switch was closed as it should be, touching the multimeter to the contacts was enough to get the washer going. .

It would seem that my unhappy washer decided to have a multiple component breakdown. after replacing one part after another, my baby runs like new. parts arrived quickly and installed easily, it was all the diagnostic that took the most time. the forums were quite helpful.
Remove front panel. Then remove top of washer, two bolts at front of top. Then remove two bolts that hold switch assembly to top on right side of top. Switch gets pried out. It just sits in with small pins holding it in place. Wire connectors hold very tight. Install is reverse.
