Igniter problem on one gas burner
I had to remove the two separate components of the gas burner unit, each had two screws. I lifted then tilted the lower portion of the burner unit to allow access to the underside of the igniter. I removed the wire and then with an offset screwdriver I removed the single screw that held the igniter in place. I reversed the steps to install the replacement, very quick fix.
I was also very pleased with how quickly the order was processed and the part was delivered, only three or four days with standard shipping.
Remove the screw on the front of each side, also there are two screws holding the burner controls. Remove the burner knobs. There are two screws holding the burner head to the top of the burner panel, looking down on the burner head, these will not come out easily. Here's where the drill comes in. Drill the two screws head off, there are two gas line connections that must be removed, be careful not to twist the gas line. Remove the burner head and replace with the new one. When replacing the burner head, screw the gas line to the burner head first, then to the main gas control.
1. Turn off Gas at valve under cooktop. Unplug electric to igniters. 2. Remove all control knobs. 3. Remove grates and burner covers. 4. Remove screws from each burner head (10 screws) 5. lift and remove cooktop cover. 6. Reach under cabinet and push up main cooktop body (about 4 or 5 inches) and BLOCK. 7. AT FRONT OF COOKTOP REMOVE 2 philips screws holding burner strip. Slightly lift burner strip enough to get short handle philips under screw holding igniter (Be gentle as gas line is still connect and will give enough so as not to have to disconnect them. 8. Remove and replace igniter. 9. Reverse procedures above.
removed knobs, burnners, top cover plate, disconnecte two gas lines from burnners to controls, lifted burnner bar, unscrewed igniter, installed new ingiter, and then reassembled cooktop. There was a total of ten screws removed, and two gas lines disconnected. The total repair time was about twenty minutes. I ordered the part on line and it was at my home in less than 48 hours. Happy ending the cooktop works great, and the repair cost only equaled the cost of the part.
the decorative backings on our stovetop knobs had become frayed, and I simply pried off the old ones, and installed the new ones. I have use Parts Select for years for various parts replacement, their service is quick and accurate. When I need a part, I always check here first.
repair failed; after much difficulty in accessing the small bolts that hold the 'spark igniters' in place; rear two were more accessible, front two proved impossible. Next step, invest in a new slide-in stove. The repair was a dad guess on my part; although designers often consider repair as a non-option, -sad but true.

While remodeling my kitchen I threw way the caps for my new cooktop.
There wasn't really anything to fix. I just had to put the burner caps on. I will say though that the service that I got and the people I talked to on the phone were wonderful. I got what I requested the first time but it was not the right part. I then called and they let me return the wrong part and the second time the order was not correct. (my fault) They are not only sending me the correct part, but they also credited the shipping. I will definitely will use Part Select again. They were great.
