Bake Element Burnt Out On Upper Oven
Unscrewed the element from the oven,disconnected the two screws for the electrical and reverse the procedure to install new element. Took all of about 10 minutes.
One burner was not level and the otherone I burned out tea kettle on it and when I pulled the kettle off the burner it was also not level not to mention part of the kettle was burned onto the burner.
I didn't turn the power off which was risky and dangerous, however it was very easy just removing one screw a couple of wires and installing the new one. VERY EASY!
First shut off power to the range in the electrical breaker box (its the 220 breaker) as marked. Remove the oven door ( open part way and lift up) the door will come off. Remove the 2 screws that the element is attached to the back of the oven wall. Pull element out part way and disconnect the 2 wires. Take out element. The new element had different connections so I cut off the clips stripped the wires and attached to the element connection . The element had connections that this was possible. Push wires back into oven wall and install the new element with the 2 screws that were removed. You could also put on clips to the 2 wires that attach to the element if so desired. (Eye hole clips.)

The part was delivered in 24 hours with regular shipping and was simple to replace. Uncrewed it, disconnected wires from the old one and connected the new one. Cost a little more than $30 including shipping and the oven works great!
First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Removed the old piece and connected the wires to the new piece. I'm a woman and this took me less that 15 minutes to complete. Easy as pie. On top of that, I received my order within 3 days! First observed the situation to determine if I should try and repair. I decided I could and should. Got the element and proceeded. I first turned the power off at the circuit breaker to cut the electrical power to the stove then I removed the two screws that holds the unit in place and then pulled unit out to where I could see the wire connection; removed the two screws on the wire connection and replaced the old element with the new element. reinserted the unit back into position and replaced the two screws that holds the unit in the stove. Turned power back on and tested the oven for any problems. Stove is working great.
After being invited to my mom's house for supper, the oven lower baking element had shorted out and self destructed.
After supper, without biscuits, I removed the element by simply removing 4 screws with my nut driver. We went home and I immediately went online to your web site, inserted the old element part number, followed the ordering instructions, and in 3 dayd the new element had been delivered to our door. Several days later we were invited to mom's for dinner once again. I quickly installed the new element (perfect fit and works great) and enjoyed a great supper........with biscuits this time. Oven would not heat, but broiler, burners and thermostat was clicking, so we figured it was the bake element.
Had to take back panel off of the inside of the oven to get to the screws to remove the old element and attache the new. Removed the two screws to remove the old, pulled it out unattached the wires and attached the new one.
Made sure oven was turned off. I used nut driver to remove nuts holding old element to back of oven. gently pulled element out of wall, taking care not to yank because of wires attached to back of element. Made sure oven was off again and then used nut driver to carefully remove wire leads from receptors on element. removed old element from oven and got the new element. carefully used nut driver to attach wire leads to new element. When snugging the bolts to leads, used pliers to keep leads on the element from bending. carefully replaced wires and rear of element into the space behind oven, and used nut driver to attach the back of element to the back of oven. shut oven and turned on to make sure it worked. it did. I was very pleased with my experience with part select dot com, and will be buying another element soon to replace the one in my other oven! Thank you
When I told my husband I ordered the part and was going to fix it myself, he laughed and said I might not have ordered the right part for the problem and I should just buy a new stove. The part was delivered the day before Christmas, just 3 days after I placed the order! I had read the stories of others fixing theirs and gave it a shot. It took me longer to find the tools then it did to replace the element! I took the screws out , pulled the element toward me and disconnected the wires. Put it back the way I found it. Oven heated up in less then 5 minutes!
super easy - unpluged stove - unscrewed old element w/nutdriver from back of stove. unwired element - discarded. wired new element (2 wires). secured new element to back of stove. pluged stove back in. works great. Ordered part on Sunday, recieved it on Tuesday- VERY NICE SERVICE
1. Removed the old element. Had a little trouble loosening the screws. After we got them loose, everything was easy. 2. Pulled out the element and disconnected the wires. 3. Connected the wires on the new element. 4. Screwed the element back in. 5. Connected the stove and turned on the oven. 6. It works like a new one.
The Bake Element broke and when powered on it started to spark and flame.
First I read the already posted repair stories to give me confidence I could perform the repair. Followed their steps - Removed the two screws holding the plate to the oven. Pulled out the element. Removed the two screws holding the wires to the element. Installed the new element by attaching the two screws (which were supplied) to the element. Reinstalled the plate to the oven. Tested it and it worked perfectly saving a costly service call.
Repair was as easy as one, two three. Turned off the power and removed the two screws holding the element in place. Then pulled the element out approx. 3 inches and removed the two screws connecting the wires to the element.
From there I reversed the process and the repair was complete in less then 5 minutes, and I am not a electrician.
