Took out the old ice tray and slipped in the new one! Easy Peasy!

I watched the video then ordered the defrost timer it was here in two days (ordered late saturday arrived tuesday). Spent $. 16 On two wire nuts and went to work . The repair took one hour including defrosting the coils with a hair dryer . Your website is my " go too " for parts and repair. I spent less than $20 including shipping !

I received the new board 6 days after making order. Very simple task. Unplug refrigerator. Removed 3 screws holding cover on back panel. Disconnected 4 wiring harness/connectors. Using needle nose pliers, I compressed the 4 plastic tabs that hold the board to the frame. I did one tab at a time and as I compressed the tab, I pulled the board away from the tab. I connected the harness/connectors to the new board before mounting on tabs. The new board had been updated and had 6 areas for connectors, just match the correct connectors to plugs, they only fit one way. Install cover plate, but remember to connect the new ground wire (green) to one of the cover mounting screws. Plug in unit and and give atleast 12 hours prior to adjusting the tempature controls.

This was very easy to do.. :D Even a woman can do it.. :D I did this and it only took me just about 5 minutes.. No problem at all. :D

Since my refrig is 18 yrs. old and I never had to replace it, took a little long to remove trim piece on the outside. After that repair went smoothly. I still have problem with water collecting inside on the bottom of the freezer, might have a leak somewhere. Ice maker is functioning correctly.

luckly i have a bit of experience in refrigeration im an hvac technician by trade. this repair was a bit tricky in that i did not know at first if it was a Temperature Sensor issue or the main control board. I had tested the defrost termination thermostat and the defrost heater and as i suspected they were ok. Next i wanted to test the thermistors (temp sensors) it is hard to find technical data on these fridges. I needed to test the thermistors resistance @ a certian temperature to ensure they were working properly but where do u get such data? I also wanted to know some information about the logic programmed into the board (i.e when do you initiate defrost etc. . .). I had no such luck so i figured since i tested the defrost heater and thermostat and they were ok and all of the evap fans and such were working i'd order a circuit board and new thermistors. Got the CORRECT PARTS from this site in 2 business days and my fridge is working great! changing the parts was really easy, figuring out which parts to change was the only difficult thing about this job.

I simply followed the video instructions and it was a breeze, so easy I couldn't believe it . The GE repairman where going to charge me approx. $265. 00 for this repair and another service person wanted to charge me $ 100.00 just to remove and replace these items that I purchased from you . Gently pry out switch in door jam with screwdriver and pull both connectors off and put connectors on new switch then push switch back into the hole. Looked it up on the internet and video showed how to and also had link to new part, ordered and less than a week later the fridge is bright again. I have an older freezer also and it seems that they all use the same switches. Very Very easy

Super easy, had my 15 year old do it (with my supervision).
Followed very clear Instructions that come with the replacement...
But, he could not get to the plug location until he removed 4 screws holding the motor assembly that spins the ice in the drawer and moved it out of the way...
Followed the rest of the instructions...
Works like a charm.

Your video was very helpful but it addressed the model as having pull out racks, where as my freezer had pull out drawer baskets. This made removing the back panel very difficult. Secondly while I installed a new thermostat you should replace the temp.sensor as to avoid the difficult removal of the panel a second time if that proved to be defective also. Replaced thermostat and the problem of frosting over improved until the next day when the outdoor humidity increased the ice chute started to frost a little. I then replaced the ice door flapper and so far with the two replacements the the problem has been solved.

Quick and easy - no problems

My defrost was not working, so from time to time I had to remove the accumulated ice with a hair dryer. I did some research and found out it is typically caused by a failing defrost thermostat, or temperature sensor. I purchase and replaced both for 30 dollars. Really easy. I watched the instruction videos on the site at least 5 times, so when I did it, it was like I was doing for the 5th time. Now the fridge works just fine!!

Noticed that the back panel in the freezer was icing up. Unplugged the unit and let it sit over night. Placed old towels inside of freezer to help soak up the water. The next day I removed all racks and the Bin in the bottom. Then removed the side rails that the bin slides in on. Remove to scews at the top of the back panel ( by the lamp ). Pull out from the top and left side to remove it. Heater is at bottom of the coil, remove/unplug wires at both ends. Then remove two screws holding in heater. Install new one. The defrost timer is at the top. Cut wires and I used butt splices with shrink tubing to help seal the splice. Also cleaned my unit out inside and in the back by fan and compressor with vacuum. All parts can be found on this web site. Very good illustrations on PartsSelect. Also received my parts in 1 1/2 days.
