Water dispenser not working and water leaking into freezer
After identifying a likely solution using other stories on this site, I ordered the replacement valve. Very easy to repair. Just move fridge, unscrew cover in lower rear and change out part located right behind cover. I decided to change the filter at the same time because I didn't know the last time it was done. It could probably be done in 5 minutes, but if your like me you clean everything while its apart.

Icemaker plastic piece had broken causing ice to not make properly and loose water to freeze things into chunks
I spent 15 - 20 minutes just hunting/deciding which of several sets of parts & directions to follow. The provided directions were not bad; but none of them quite matched my GE ADORA side-by-side model. Once I came up with the actions I would need to take...I was done in 5 minutes! The kit , as I said, came with all the parts one could need (and one or two un-needed parts included for other model GE refrigerators) I am very happy with PART SELECT...altough GE doesn't rate as high with me for their declining reliability.

h2o not flowing to ice maker
First I turned the water supply off to the fridge.Next, I let a little water out from the supply line & into a container in order to rule out a faulty line or valve. Since I was able to get water from that, I figured I had three possibilities left to work on. I already intended on replacing the water filter so other than replacing the entire icemaker I would order the water valve. I ended up spending approximately around $60 for both items but could have saved more $ if I had bought the water filter from you guys. I was familiar due to past experiences involving the water valve but I did read some of the experiences that was printed online and thought that was a plus and because of your self help guidance it enables an average Joe to repair an appliance without being sent to the poor house. Thank you immensely and Look forward to doing my part shopping on line & thru your company. Yours truly, Steve

Temperature panel showing Error Code
This fridge had been slowly dying over the past 3 years. First to go was the Ice Maker/Water control. It wasn't the switches, it was something else. Then it was the compressor acting up, making lots of noise, running all the time. Finally the temperature of the Freezer failed. But after unplugging and restarting, it began to work again. By this time we emptied the thing out and just left it there to see what would happen, while pricing out new replacement refrigerators. Finally the compressor stopped and the temperature panel was blank except for an error code. HSR maybe, I don't remember now. But I was resigned to buying a new $2000 refrigerator. I don't know why, but I did not want to gamble on calling in a service man. Acting on a hunch, I did a BING search on the error code and my model number. The best hit was the PartSelect video showing how easy it is to replace the main board. Reading the description, all of the problems solved by this fix were ones that we had with ours. So I convinced my wife to take a shot at spending the $160 to fix the fridge, and maybe save $2000. So I did it. The video instruction was easy to follow, and I have done some repair work, and built my own computers before, so it was not out of my realm of experience. Short story: It worked, and the fridge is working better than ever.

OEM motherboard dead.
Ordered another motherboard from GE. Received shipment in less than 3 days. Replacement motherboard was packed very well. Installation took about 5 minutes with a common screwdriver. 4 hours after installation the refrigerator and bottom freezer were back at normal temps. Saved myself hundreds of dollars by doing it myself.

Freezer iced up and frige too warm.
I called a repair shop and they said the control bd. was bad. They replaced it and about 2 weeks later it happened again. They came out again and replaced the bd. under warranty. About a week later it happened again. This seemed like too much of a coincidence, so I looked around on the internet and found your site. The video showed how to replace the freezer safety thermostat which I ordered on Sunday and received on Tuesday. By then the coils were iced up again. I completed the repair in about half an hour. So far the old GE is working like new. Thanks for the help. I just wish I hadn't spent over $400 for incompetent repair people in the first place. Thanks again, you guys are great! By the way the part only cost about $17 including shipping.
