Refrigerator and Freezer warming and cooling. Ice would melt and then refreeze. Freezer temp would warm to 25 then back to 0, refrig temp would warm to 50 then back to 34.
We first read that we should thoroughly clean the coils which we did. They were very dirty, full of dust. This seemed to help for a couple days then the hot and cold started up again and was even worse. We did some research on the internet and all indications led us to change the main control board. We found PartSelect ordered the part, received it super fast (within 2 days), changed the part in less than 15 mins and our refrigerator works like new. No trouble since the repair. Saved a lot of time and money doing the repair ourselves.

Ice shoot flapper door was sticking
Gentlemen,

Many thanks for the help in repairing my GE refrigerator. From the web site and videos, I determined the problem with the flapper on my ice maker was a bad solenoid. I ordered the part from you then followed the step by step instructions to install it. It made what seemed to be an intimidating job rather easy.

Thanks again,

Gary Schafer

Freezer and fridge temperature too high
I removed the interior back of the fridge and used a hairdryer to defrost the enormous amount of ice that had built up. After all the ice was gone, it became evident that the defrost heater was the problem - the glass tube had turned black. I removed the old part and its wires and replaced with the new part. It was a bit tricky with the wires but I made sure to pay attention how to put them back when I removed the old ones.

Would not self defrost.
Remove the shelves then remove the back by removing the two screws at the top of the panel. Locate the temperature sensor on top of the coil. Cut the wires and replace with the new one. Use wire nuts and electrical tape to reconnect the wires.

Broken Left Glide for Ice Bucket
The ice bucket on our fridge broke near the front nut securing it to the side wall. This caused the bucket to hang unevenly and was just a complete hassle to get in the ice bin, which we do several times a day since the ice chute is not as clean as I trust (rental house). The parts were very easy to find on parts select and arrived much quicker than I expected. A couple quick turns with a nut driver and the old slide was out, a couple more turns and the new slide was in place. I removed the front bucket cover (broken) and the three small screws holding it in place and replaced with the new cover. Everything was back together, STRAIGHT, and working properly in about 15 minutes. This couldn't have been much easier. Thank you very much to Part Select for getting me what I consider odd parts, probably in very low demand, for a fridge that isn't exactly new. Very easy, very quick delivery, and parts in stock - thanks!
