DBB3300GA0WW General Electric Dryer - Instructions

First I had to wait about 3 days for the parts to arrive when they got here they were the wrong parts for my dryer had to return them and reorder the right part. The front bearing I needed was a universal bearing that fit a fridgedair dryer as well as the GE I had. When it arrived I set in on replacing the bearing first. The hardest thing about replacing it was removing the old glue under the felt strip. I then applied the new glue and felt bearing strip and held it in place for about a minute, when I thought it was ready to reinstall in the drum I did so. I then installed the drum belt which is a bit easyer. I put the dryer together and did not run it until the next day just to make sure the glue was dry and holding the bearing strip tightly. Then I ran the dryer with a full load it was a bit noisey until the new drum belt broke in. Hope you like my book LOL.

Put in the new switch and it starts great. Now that it runs there is no heat. I assume the elements are out.

I tried replacing just bearing slides previously, but because I ignored the squeel too long, the drum wore through the bearing and new slides wouldn't stay in place, so I did this job twice. Open door, two Philips screws hold front edge of top to front panel (not clips to pry like somemodels). Lift top panel up to maneuver the tabs from control panel slots. Set top panel aside. Two more screws accessed from inside hold front panel top to side panels. Once they're out, lean front panel against something to keep wires from pulling. Pop bearing collar out with your fingers or a flat screw driver, top edge out first. Put new one in, replace tabs (4 of them) while your at it. Assemble in reverse order. Lesson learns...check those sacrificial slides after 8 years, spend te bucks to replace, and don't ignore the squeek sound or you'll have to replace the bearing as well.

Remove steel insert and install new knob.

Open dryer door and remove two screws under top. Lift top up and towards you to remove from rear tabs. Then remove two screws holding the front door panel on, they are up high on either side of the drumdrum. Hold drum up and pull front panel top towards you. Now you can remove the old bearing assembly by unsnapping it from door panel. Install new unit by snapping it in place but be shure to put lower tabs of bearing in to lower unit first then snap into place. Put green slides on top and white slides on the sides of bearing unit and you are ready to reassemble the dryer, but be careful to hold up the drum when pushing the door panel back into place so as to not damage the bearing.

UNPLUG THE DRYED BEFORE YOU START ANY REPAIRS!!Removed the front panel of the dryer by taking out the 2 phillips head screws located inside the door panel, raised the top section of the dryer and removed it. Then removed the 2 phillips head screws from the front panel, located about an inch below the front top corners of the front panel by raising up slightly on the drum and pulling forward on the panel. Removed the front panel and was careful not to confuse the wires connected to the door switch and light, then removed them from the plugs and removed the panel. Then, romoved the light located at the top center just above the door opening and carefully removed the Front Drum Bearing from the front panel. Installed the new slides on the new Front Drum Bearing and snapped it back into place on the front panel. Replaced the light bulb and front panel of dryer and the top panel of dryer. Spun the drum by hand to make sure there was no rubbing or dragging. Plugged the dryer back into the wall plug and started the dryer. Worked GREAT! Very easy installation in very little time. Only took about 15 to 20 minutes to complete.

New handle popped on easily. After 2 weeks the replacement handle just broke.
