ARB1905CC Amana Refrigerator - Instructions

Extremly easy - just followed the video exactly. Changing the ice make out couldn't have been more easy. when the ice maker was out - noticed some ice build up in the filling water tube. Used the hair dryer to defrost (will replace the double outlet water valve to stop this once my husband is there to help me pull out the frig.) We now have perfect ice cubes. still slowly having issues with some ice build up - but know the water valve is bad too. more to come!!

I received this part the day after I ordered it. Super easy to install...2 screws..less than 10 minutes. Local company wanted $12.00 more...shipping would have been $8.00...1 mile to my home...NOT. Will use Parts Select again.

The replacement ice maker was exactly the same size and model. All the mounting screws lined up and install was snap. The website parts description was very good and helpful. We now have ice cubes with no over flowing glacier in the ice tray.

Pulled the fridge out, Took bottom panel off. Removed 3 screws holding motor. Unplugged connector, cut wires, attached old connector on new motor. put blade on new motor.installed in fridge, put cover back on.

fans all worked and were running,airflow was fine but no cooling was happening, nothing was getting cold. I replaced the Overload Relay and it works great. Thanks Partselect!

I used a knife blade to slip under the edge of old switch to pray it out of the hole it was inserted into, switched the wires and replaced the new switch into the same hole. It took about five minutes!

The kit I recieved was perfect. All parts fit and where a perfect match. I will give you an A+ in handling my order and shocked by speed of your delivery.

Unlike what the online video showed, my bottom freezer French door refrigerator didn't use hooks to secure the icemaker in place. Instead, it used three tabs with screws to secure it in place. I could see two of them, but not the third one. After removing two screws and realizing that the icemaker was still pretty well secured, I felt around and found the third screw (at the top, right behind the front of the icemaker). Once I got that out, the replacement went easily, as shown on the video. That third screw was a little challenging to put back, but after a few tries I got it in. The icemaker is now making ice like a champ! Good work PartSelect! And the part came quickly, as advertised.

Unscrewed two screws lifted off handle and replaced with new handle and replaced the screws.

First pulled the Ice tray out of the freezer, Pulled the cord for the power to the refrig. Removed 3-Srews with the nut driver and disconnected the Power Supply to the Ice maker. Removed it from the freezer and started to remove the Bail and install the bail in the new Ice maker. Remove the cover from the side of the old ice maker and install it on the new ice maker. Put it back in the Refrig and connected the power cord and installed the 3-screws and reinstalled the Ice Tray and 30 mins. later it started making ice. Thanks for the Youtube Video it helped a lot to take the pressure off of doing it your self.

I have an Amana fridge on top freezer drawer on bottom unit don't have the model # handy. First unplug the unit. Then remove the cover on the refridge compartment cooling control knob complete with the lights and all. There is a video on part select that shows removing both this cover and the rear cold air inlet cover but if you are careful you don't have to remove the rear cover. That was done to allow removal of the plastic pulley belt that goes from the control knob at the front to the actuator gear at the back. I just popped the front cover and let it hang gently from the belt and then simply unscrewed the timer (screws on the underside so you have to snap the light cover off first). Then you can very quickly unplug the old timer and plug in the new one, reinstall the screws and pop the whole thing back into the roof of the fridge. Not sure if that was the only problem so I opted to replace the thermostat as well. This is in the freezer compartment behind the back panel. I had the ice maker on the left. First you want to remove the drawers and Door of the freezer leave the drawer slides in you can simply lift the drawers and door front up and out. Then push the slides back in. Next you have to get the ice maker out of the way. Just remove the three screws holding to the wall of the freezer and unplug the electric line. It has a plastic plug that disconnects easily. When you get it out the water fill hose will be sticking through the back wall of the freezer. Now just remove the 4 screws at the corners of the back freezer wall panel. Then you can grab the panel top and bottom center and pull it. It will bend enough to spring clear of the drawer slides on either side. Mine was frozen in place and needed some heating with a hair dryer. Once it let go it came out easily. Next I had to defrost the whole coil behind it was solid with ice including the thermostat to be replace. The thermostat was in the upper right corner. Looked exactly like the one in the kit. It is clipped to the copper refrigeration line. Just unclip it. It has two wires color coded brown and orange. Can't screw this up. The replacement just had stripped end wires. Would have been nice to have electrical plugs to make replacement a plug and play but not. Just cut the wires to the old one leaving a little to work with in the freezer. You can always cut it shorter if you need to. Then just strip the wires in the freezer and wire nut the new one in with the wire nuts included and wrap with electrical tape then reclip the new thermostat to the copper cooling line same place it was before and go backwards to put everything back in and plug the thing in.That's it. It will take a while to cool down and you won't here the compressor right away some type of time delay I guess. Its been a week now and works fine. Much cheaper than having a guy come to the house. Think of it this way once your done your beer can get cold again!

Move refrigerated and turn off water and unplug elect. Remove ice Ben and guide on right side. Move one screw on the bottom and lousen tow screws on top. Remove ice maker to unhook electrical connection. Transfer parts from old one to the new one . Revise the removal of it and when done .Plug in cord and turn on water. If you have done everything very carefully you will have ice in a few hours.Good luck.

easy enough, removed 3 screws, unplugged wiring harness, put new unit on work bench, put old wire harness on new unit, put old motor cover on new unit,(the only trouble i had was figuring out how to swap the light blue plastic piece for the white plastic piece, i just put a screwdriver underneath and applied pressure) plugged harness back into freezer, turned water back on and waited... 2 hours later heard beautiful ice cubes dropping into tray :)

The ice maker was easy but the older Maytag inlet valves are rigid plastic line- make sure that line is properly connected to back of fridge- the 1st night the water leaked down back of freeze- thus no ice in ice maker tray ----but the bottom of freezer was full of frozen water--- took ice maker off and realigned inlet pipe- once that was done- no more problems- ( did also have to take hair dryer and remove all ice build up in bottom of freezer --- remember to check that rigid line as it can become detached while changing out ice maker assembly- thx Greg
