no heat from dryer
Just before leaving for vacation, we discovered that the dryer was not heating the air at all. Its an electric dryer, so did the basic troubleshooting, put ohm meter on the dryer element and found it was open circuit. Ordered the replacement element and it arrived while were were gone on vacation. My wife and daughter came home early from the beach to get kid ready to go to college. They needed the dryer, so I was able to walk them through replacing the element over the phone.

Amazing that they were able to get this done, but really just says how easy it was.

Dryer didn't have heat.
I actually had a friend's husband do the repair, who is an electrician by trade. He removed the front of the dryer, removed the box that held the element, removed the element, marked the wiring, and then when the part came, he put it back in, and reassembled the dryer.

dryer would spin, but no heat
The kit came with two fuses. On testing with the ohm meter I found the one that was bad. But of course I put in the two new fuses. It was easy to reach from the front with the lint trap removed. The fuses were easy to disconnect the wires and unscrew and then put the two new fuses in - again screw the fuses in and then connect the wires.

Dryer running cold
As per directions (videos) I found on PartSelect; 1st removed the bottom panel, then removed the housing (2 screws) covering the fan/lint trap area. Pulled the wires (2) from the heating element and removed three screws, 1 on the side of the housing immediately behind the heating element terminals, and 2 screws holding the stamped steel riser in place. I didn't have to remove the entire heater housing, but rather wiggled the heating element out slowly. For that I used a pair of pliers to grip the element and a gloved hand to hold the housing steady while I pulled one side then the other. I spent some time vacuuming out all the dust while I was in there. Replacing the element was a little easier, it slid in with firm hand pressure. Then just a matter of reversing the steps above. Wife was happy and once again, I am a hero.

My drier wouldn't heat up
I did this wrong and then I did it right. Without testing, I ordered a heating element, but that didn't fix the problem. I went back to PartsSelect and learned how to test the different parts of the dryer. It turned out to be a faulty fuse. Once I had the correct problem to solve, it only took me about 15 minutes.

The Dryer was not drying my clothes.
I unplugged the dryer, removed all 9 1/4 inch screws to remove back panel, used an amp meter with sound to test various sensors, if the meter beeps the part is good, if it doesn't beep is bad. The upper Thermal sensor was bad,I looked up the part. I ordered the Thermal Cut Off Kit, I ordered it friday the part got here the next day, BEST SITE to order parts.I Removed and replaced the part, put the back panel back on and plugged the dryer back in. Bingo, my dryer works like new.:) Thank you. I paid $24 for the part versus the cost of a new dryer.

Electric Dryer was not getting hot
Initially we thought it might be the heating element so I used OHM meter to test that and it was fine so decided to check the thermal fuses. Removed one wire on fuse and tested with OHM meter and it confirmed replacement needed. As recommended on line I replaced both fuses. Parts took a little longer than I expected to arrive but once they came in I had dryer repaired and put back together in 15 minutes. Last service call to my house was roughly $90, parts I needed including shipping were $30 so I saved $60 but doing it myself.

No Heat
Used Instant Repairman to troubleshoot, discovered that no heat was solved by replacing "Thermal Cut-off Kit" and was the problem 55% of the time. Bingo, back in business. The schematic online showed the location of the parts and was fairly easy to replace once all the guards and front panels were removed, 12 screws and 3 spring clips. We are dealing with 220 voltage here, make sure to unplug the dryer and/or shut off the breaker, always double check with curcuit tester or volt meter, stay alive!

My dryer stopped heating.
Of course, I checked on-line to see how to do this repair first. It was the thermal cut off that needed to be replaced but there was a reason it went out. The vent had come loose behind the dryer. I didnt think that was a big deal, but the dryer sucks all that lint back into the dryer. There was an inch of lint inside the back of the dryer. It got too hot and lucky for me, the thermal cut off shut it down. Otherwise, it would of caught fire. The repair was easy and the dryer works great again. Just be sure you keep the vents connected and clean.
