This Spring is sold individually, not as part of a kit or assembly, and is made of metal. If the pull cord will not retract into the housing, inspect the Recoil Spring for signs of wear or damage, replacing if necessary. You will need a screwdriver to complete this repair. The chainsaw starter rope is a three-foot-long white rope that is approved by the original equipment manufacturer, and which wraps around the recoil pulley and is pulled to start the engine.
