My Frigidaire upright freezer has been saying the temperature was high and alarming constantly. I replaced the thermistor and it works like new again. Thank you so much.

We had to call a repairman and he says it can't be fixed. So sad.

The replacement of the Thermistor is a snap. Take out the bottom two shelves, remove the 8 screws in the back panel, pull it out. Cut the wires to the old thermistor and install the new one. There are demo's on you tube so I wont go into detail.
Unfortunately the replacement door seal was packaged with twists in it and wou

If the thermistor goes bad would it cause the freezer to run non stop? It seems it is running non stop, I have replaced the board controller on front and the condenser fan.

Hi Brandon, Thank you for the question. The Thermistor can cause this issue as well as the defrost thermostat, PartSelect Number: PS2350702. I suggest testing them both with a multi meter. Hope this helps!

For a while it seemed to never stop running. I unplugged it and then plugged it back in. Now it shows OFF on the display. Nothing I do will change that and off course it is not running.

Hi Joel, thank you for the question. We have found that to activate freezer, press up (^) three times until display shows 1, then press (^) to the desired setting. To fix the running issue, we would recommend checking the thermistor, part number PS977306. It senses the temperature inside the freezer and sends information to the electronic control board. We hope this solves your problem!

Our upright freezer will turn on and freeze for several hours then turn off. It will not turn back on unless you unplug and mess with temp settings. We've been doing this routine for days. Pulled inside cover and evaporator is not freezing up. Haven't bought any parts yet.

Hi Cory, thank you for the question. Normal operating room temperatures for a freezer are between 60° and 95° Fahrenheit. The hotter and more humid the air is the less efficient the freezer will be, causing it to run more. If possible, keep the freezer within the recommended operating temperatures and as cool as possible. Check to see that the doors are closing properly. If a door bin or food item is keeping the door open slightly, the freezer may not cool properly, which can cause the freezer to run all the time. Clean the condenser coils. If the condenser coils are dirty, they will not be able to dissipate heat effectively, greatly reducing the cooling capacity of the freezer. If the condenser coils are dirty or have not been cleaned in a while, clean them. If this does not help, we recommend replacing the electronic control board, part number PS3502428. Glad to be of assistance!
Freezer too warm. This happened 11 months ago as well. The coil was completely frozen. Once thawed i tested the defrost heater and it appeared to be ok. Now the temperature display shows 1 degree f but actual temperature is 22 degrees f. Could this be the thermistor or the control panel, and how can i check?

Hello Gary, thank you for inquiring. You can test the resistance of the Thermistor with a multi meter. There should be a tech sheet behind the bottom front grill indicating what your model refrigerator's Thermistor should test as. We hope this helps!

Evaporator coil completely froze over & compressor running constantly. Defrost cycle not working properly. Tested heating element and defrost termination switch—both good. Problem is either the control board or the thermistor. Is there a way to test the thermistor?

Hello Roger,
Thank you for your question. You can use a multi-meter to test the electrical charge in the thermistor to see if it is getting power or if it is defective. Our sources suggest it is likely to be the thermistor that is defective for your model than the control board, but if the thermistor isn't defective the control board under part PS3493021 for your model would likely need to be replaced. We hope this helps.
Is the freezer supposed to run all the time? I've replaced the thermostat, but it still runs constantly. Is the defrost timer located next to the compressor? Maybe that's the problem. Thank you.

Hello Jim, thank you for your question. We have researched your model and found that the issue is probably with the Defrost Thermostat, part number PS2350702. If that does not take care of the issue, then the problem is most likely to be related to the Defrost Heater, part number PS10062889. If you require assistance to place an order, please contact customer service. We hope that helps!
My Frigidaire freezer it has a E9 error. And is constantly running. It does get cold to minus 20 degrees .I replaced the thermistor the defrost thermostat and the control bord and I still get the same error .Is there any thing else to look into?

Hello Lydia, thank you for contacting us. It seems like there is a problem with your run capacitor, part number PS2333670. If checking this part does not solve the problem, please check your defrost heater, part number PS10062889. We hope this solves your problem!
Our freezer isn't cold enough, is there a way to make it colder ?
