Hello , I have a Samsung RF28HFEDTSR and I replaced the twin cool unit which I purchased through your organization. I am getting ice build up around the fan even though I replaced it . I’ve done a forced defrost and the issue goes away for about a month . Any ideas on what may be causing the ice build up.

If the defrost sensor trips because it's not working correctly, frost builds up on the evaporator fins, eventually making the refrigerator and freezer not cool well. You can use volt/ohm meter to check the defrost sensor for continuity. Replace the defrost sensor if it shows no continuity at around 0 degrees F. The coil freezes and the part of the refrigerator does not cool because there is no airflow from the evaporator.Why?

Thank you for your question. I would suggest checking your defrost heater first. If that part is fine you could take a look at your evaporator fan motor as well. If both of those parts are fine then the problem may lie in your control board. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

I put the model number where is says model number (recommended) but obviously it does not make it across. The model number is rf26j7500sr.

Hello Robert, Thank you for the model number. The Heater includes the defrost sensor but the Temperature sensor PartSelect Number PS4138666 (20.2) is sold separate. We recommend ordering both parts. Hope this helps!
Does the ice maker assemble include the defrost heater and sensor in the assembly unit. The ice maker will work for a week or two, freeze over, have to defrost it reset and works fine for another week or so. Will replacing the whole unit solve this problem with out trying a lot of single parts

Hello Dwaine, thank you for your question. No, the icemaker does not include the units defrost heater and thermostat. The icemaker has a small heater that heats for a second to loosen the cubes before its dispensed, but that is it. If the icemaker is freezing over it could be cause by air getting into that section or if the water is dripping into the icemaker after its supposed to be turned off. I hope this helps.

My refrigerator freezers up in the back panel and my icemaker stops working. I thaw the whole thing out reset it and within three days it's very cold again and the icemaker is not producing ice. I can hear the icemaker trying to make ice but nothing comes out. In the refrigerator bins for fruit and vegetables get very cold and freezes as well.

Hello Pam, Thank you for the question. We suggest testing the Bi-Metal Defrost Thermostat. The best way to do this is to remove the thermostat from the refrigerator so you can control the temperature of the sensor. You can let the sensor warm up to room temperature. With the sensor warmed up to room temperature the sensor should read approximately 6.2K Ohms at 68°F. With the thermistor submerged is a glass full of ice water, the sensor should be very close to 32°F which should read approximately 16.3K Ohms. If the values that you are getting are far off from these readings, then the sensor is bad and should be replaced. We hope this helps.
You asked me to verify the model number. The model is listed under the applications for this part. Here is the question again.My coils freeze up stopping the fan. I have taken it apart several times and thawed but it keeps coming back. I am going to change the defrost heater (which is what I hope this is). Do this include the sensor shown in 20-2 (pn da32-10104n)? Also do you think the other sensor (da32-00011c) found in 33-2 would help with my issue?
