This dishwasher door gasket (Bottom Gasket, Gasket, Door Seal, Dishwasher Door Lower Seal) helps prevent water from leaking out of the bottom edge of your dishwasher door by creating a watertight seal. This part is attached to the bottom of your dishwasher inner door panel. It is frequently exposed to water and detergent during its lifetime. The water and chemicals can eventually wear down the gasket and compromise the integrity of the seal. If the gasket is malfunctioning, the integrity of the door seal will be effected. You will notice leaking through the bottom of your dishwasher door. If your dishwasher is leaking water from the bottom of the door, first inspect the seal for food particles near the bottom and sides, and remove the buildup, as it can stop the door from closing properly and keeping a tight seal; if not, you may need to replace the bottom door gasket. Check the door gasket for tears, cuts, or wear. This part is sold individually and measures 22.5 inches by 1.25 inches. It is constructed of plastic, and comes in yellow/grey. So I’m trying to do this repair myself and although I think I got it right I’m not sure and it’s very frustrating. Here’s the problem, after I change the gasket seal just barely touching it will slip it out. How do I stop this from happening, do I have the wrong part or was I supposed to get some sort of glue or clip thing? The notch is on the right side that was indicated in the video too. Can you help me?
Hi Helena, based on your situation we recommend pressing the gasket with controlled pressure into the channel that is on the inner door liner. It should be a snug fit, and if it is too loose it needs to be pushed in further. I hope this helps.

Bottom door gasket, pulled out the old one, very easy, cleaned the space where gasket goes. Started on the side with notch, pushed in then started pushing in from notch across, gasket then disappeared and i can not see it. How do i recover the gasket?

I sent a question yesterday about a notch in the bottom of the door seal i ordered. You told me about the notch on the end. I know what that is. I am asking about a notch that is in the middle of the gasket. I have got this part before and had the same thing. It does not show on your picture of the item or on the installation video. It is about 1/4 inch square. What is it and will it let the door leak. Don't see a reason for it.

I'm looking for the bottom door gasket. Your video shows installing a white gasket on what appears to be a somewhat flexible interior. I'm wondering if that gasket will work on our Frigidaire professional series dishwasher. Or do i need a different bottom door gasket.

Bottom door gasket has 6 holes and water leaks through the holes. Was sent a replacement from Frigidaire and it has the same holes. I found the gasket on your site and the picture doesn't show any holes but i wanted to know before i order it if the picture is accurate

I have twice purchased bottom seal for door and both times they have come with a notch in the middle. This isn't shown in any video on replacement of gasket. Why is this?

I’m getting a leaking from my dishwasher but I already replaced the seals. What should my next plan of action be
Hello Miles, we recommend first checking that the dishwasher is levelled and properly secured. Then check that the door aligns with the tub opening, and that the splash guard does not have any damage. If everything is in good condition, check the float for sticking, and the spray arm for splitting. One of these should solve your problem. However, if you are still having leakage, please let us know and we will help you solve it.

Bottom Door Seal fell apart and started leaking.
First I opened the door all the way. Second I reached down to the bottom gasket then grabed it on the right end of the seal that is on the right side of the door. Then I pulled the end outward from the bottom of the door toward the heater coil in the bottom of the washer. It came out real easy. You see it just snaps into a little plastic groove under the door. I then cleaned up the area for food and soap particules. I then placed the new gasket in place by lining up the notch toward the right end with the piece of plastic that encloses the right end of the plastic notch on the bottom right end of the door. Then push it in untill it stops going into the notch. It snaps in but does not make a snaping sound. It just won't go in no more.

Leaking from the bottom of the door
With the door wide open and lower dishtray out, I pulled the old gasket out of its channel. I cleaned the channel with a rag and replaced it with the new gasket. It needed to be trimmed about an inch in order to get the door to close properly. Took me about 5 minutes. Then I removed the old bottom door gasket. Just grasped the plastic edge showing while the door is completely open. Pull outward with fingers moving toward the heating element. Cleaned this area also. Took the new gasket with notch on the right hand side of the dishwasher and pushed it into place. If you get down and look closely, you can see where the notch hooks up. The rest of the piece just slides in after that. Hasn't leaked since! No leaks AND no service call fee. Parts came super fast! So glad I found this website. I'm a housewife, you can do this!
The strip comes right out when you pull, there is a space to grip it on the left and pull it out. The notch goes on the right side when you put it back in; it only goes in one way. I didn't get it all the way in the first time and closed the door; the gasket came right out. A clear sign that I had done something wrong! So I put it in again, this time pushing it as far as it would go. It went all the way in and stayed. It doesn't click or anything, but you can kind of feel when the notches all connect. Also, it doesn't slide right out again.... very easy!

Dishwasher leaking
Thought the problem was a faulty door gasket (there was a gap in the middle of it) so I ordered new(new one had a gap also) replaced it anyway - maybe it was worn out? Still leaked! Had to sit and stare at it and cycle it through. finally realized the spray arm had a hole in the end that was spraying directly into the gap in the door gasket. Hot glued the hole and it stopped so I bought a new spray arm - no leaky!

Dishwasher door was leaking water at the bottom corners.
It took less than a minute to remove the old bottom door gasket - it pulls right out. You wouldn't think the part looks the way it does (a 1.5 inch wide plastic strip that runs the length of the door with rubber gaskets on both ends) but have faith. Trust the diagram/picture - it is the correct part and will fix the leak. The new gasket arrived within a couple days of ordering and was simple to install - no tools. It slides into place in less than a minute and is held in by friction. Problem solved and no more leaks. For under $12 (parts and shipping) I had my dishwasher fixed. A service call by itself would have run $75 - just for someone to show up at the house, and then probably another $50 for parts and labor to install. My wife made the comment "Even I could have fixed that". A very simple and easy repair - you can do it!!!

Found water leaking at bottom of door
1. Bottom door gasket removed very easy by grabbing left corning and pulling out. Starting with notch on right side, slide the hard plastic side up at a slight angle to catch the slot the gasket will seat in. Slowly moving toward the left, push gasket into seated position. Notch in gasket will make sure it is in correct position. Push gasket all the way in so that it is flush with bottom edge of door. Watch when first sliding gasket in, it has to g at a slight up angle or it will fall into an empty space. 2. Remove Tub gasket by gripping one side and pulling out. Replace in same fashion making sure the angled wedge of gasket is first part that lays flat in slot. Working from one side to the other, make sure the gasket seats completely. Trim excess if necessary.
Pulled out old gasket from bottom of door with needle nosed pliers and then put in new one in.

One of the springs was broken, The door would not open or close properly. There was also a leak coming from the front of the dishwasher.
I removed the dishwasher from the cabinet space (two screws) and manually replaced both springs. I replaced one spring first to see if there would be an improvement when the second new spring was installed. There was much better tension once the second new spring was added.That is why changing both springs is recommended. This was very easy. Changing the gasket was scary because I thought the the whole door would have to be taken apart. You know nothing ever goes back together the same. I feared that I would create an even bigger leak than what I had. Taken the door apart didnt work for me, so I just pulled the old gasket by hand and pressed in the new one. I made sure that it was seated correctly. Voila no leak. The dishwasher is running as good as new. I ordered these parts on Friday morning. They were on my door step Monday morning, I highly recommend ordering from this site.
Fully open dishwasher door to horizontal position, remove lower dishwasher rack and relocate to another temp location, grab old lower door seal from right or left corner and pull completely out of door, lay the old bottom seal aside facing the same direction as once installed (seal has a notched side which faces the right side of door), match direction of the new seal with the old seal (match the notched side of seal to the right side of door), gently push the seal into the door starting on the right side (notched side of seal fits tightly into a receiving area inside the door), and finally push the remaining portion of the seal into door (aligning with the right side already properly seated inside dishwasher door). Close dishwasher and run water cycle to confirm leak.
