Product Description
Light Bulb - 40W Specifications
This an authentic OEM 40-Watt replacement light bulb, used in a number of household appliances. It is specially designed to withstand extreme temperatures, which is why these replacement bulbs are most often used to light the inside of refrigerators and ranges. It features a standard socket base, which means you simply unscrew the burnt-out bulb and screw in the replacement. Depending on the appliance you may require a screwdriver or nut driver to access the light bulb. We recommend you wear work gloves while handling this replacement part. It is constructed of glass and metal and is sold individually. Depending on the appliance and location of the bulb within it, you may want to consider disconnecting power and using a flashlight for easier access to unscrewing and re-screwing in your bulb during this repair.

Easy swap - except for the challenge of removing the old bulb!
Hi - very nice bulb. Arrived well-packaged. Easy to install - just like a regular lightbulb should be. These have lasted about 10 years in the past. Thank-you for supplying SO many parts, especially those for older models. Really appreciate it, as someone who likes to repair, rather than replace.

Almost as expected
The only issue with the three bulbs I ordered (only 1 of the 3 bulbs required for our refrigerator was burnt out, but I was looking ahead) was the the bulb was a warm white color - the other bulbs are cool white. The replacement bulb is acceptable, however - at least for the time being.

Oven would heat up very slowly and not reach more than 325 *F
I purchased all the likely suspects. It was a corroded lower heating element that was faulty. Fixed the burnt out light bulb for good measure while I was in there.

No levelers on stove/burnt out oven light
Leveler screw in. Adjust to height of counter top since stove has lip that rest on counter top. Oven lens cover difficult to unscrew. Use rubber glove to get better grip!

Bake element eroded
Everything was straightforward other than the tabs that the screws go through before going into the back of the oven were the wrong size and the predrilled holes were not in the right location. Had to trim the metal tabs and redrill the screw holes.

Light bulb and socket became one when trying to remove a burned out bulb. Ruined the socket.
Move stove out from wall. Unplug from power. Removed four screws from the left side of the back (the side the light socket is on. Reach in and unplug the two wires on the back of the bulb socket assembly. Inside the oven, remove the bulb cover and the two screws holding the socket assembly. Remove assembly. Install bulb in new assembly, reattach the assembly to the oven back, reinstall the bulb cover. On the back of the stove, replug the two wires and replace the screws on the stove's back cover. Replug the unit to power and move back into position.
Sounds harder than it is. The worst part is reaching inside the oven to get at those bits.

The light went out in my oven and there’s some type of cover over it and I can’t get to it. What do I do?
Hi Jamie, you should be able to unscrew the cover on the bulb, which will allow you to remove the bulb and replace it. The cover is there to protect the bulb, but should be easily removed. Best of luck with this repair.

My freezer light just went out and I want to replace my fridge light too, will this light bulb be compatible with both or do I need to order a different one for the other side?
Hello Josie, this bulb should be compatible with both the fridge and the freezer. I hope this helps.

How to get the light cover off to replace the light bulb?
For model number GX5SHTXVB00
Hi Mando, Thank you for the question. The cover is held in by tabs. If you push the cover back the front tabs will release and the cover will release and expose the bulb. Hope this helps!

The light in my oven is being finicky and Ive been replacing it often. I believe it is the right one as I checked at the stores when buying it and online. Is there something I should be checking on my oven that could indicate why my bulbs aren’t lasting?
Hello Sheldon, if there is not an issue with the voltage, the next thing to check for would be a loose connection at the socket. Also, when installing the new bulb make sure that it is tight to the socket. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

I tried to use a bulb that was 40 watt and had the same size and shape i purchased from a big box store. It burned out almost immediately. I noted that the bulb had a 115v rating. The bulb that was originally burnt out had a 130v rating. Is this the problem. What is the rating on your replacement bulb.
For model number BX22A2L
Hi Tom,
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately the manufacturer has not given us that information. You may need to use a bulb that is specifically an appliance light bulb. You would be unable to use just a regular light bulb. You could also purchase this bulb and it would work for your appliance. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

The light in the freezer went out but we can't find where the bulb is.
For model number KFCS22EVMS3
Hi Gail,
Thank you for your question. If you look at the Freezer Liner Parts diagram underneath your model information on our website, the light is part number 9. It looks like it is on the roof of your freezer cabinet and it is covered by part number 10, the housing. Generally there is one or two screws that you remove and then you should be able to pop off that housing from the roof. Good luck with your repair.

How do you remove a broken light bulb?
For model number WSF26C2EXY02
Hi Jose,
Thank you for your question. This bulb is in a few different places. It looks like you would just unscrew it from the sockets. There may be a cover in front of the bulb, you would just have to pop that off to get to the bulb. Good luck with your repair.
