Good Part
Part was good and is working great. Shipping took more time than expected but over all very good value versus buying new machine.

return policy not good - lost customer
The part was in good condition when it arrived, but the customer did not want to complete repair because other parts were damaged and they did not want to spend what they thought was too close to the cost of a new machine. A return authorization was provided to take back the part, but shipping cost quotes from FedEx, UPS, and the USPS ranged from $80.00 to $95.00 even though the shipping cost to have the part delivered was only $9.95. When I called to ask if there was a way that PartSelect could help ship it back I was told that they couldn't and the person recommended that I insure the delivery on top of the quoted shipping cost in case it was damaged in shipping. Spending close to $100.00 to return a part that cost $158.95 in the hope that it would be accepted for return doesn't make sense. Unfortunately that kind of customer service prevents me from ever being a return customer.

Hub fit great
This replacement rear tub fit great. Bearing went out on our machine and was very noisy. Found a Rouge sock in the bottom of tub when I disassembled it. Was causing the water not to drain sometimes, which caused bearing to fail. To replace the rear tub you do have to disassemble the whole machine, not a simple project. I also had to replace a balance ring since it had lost the fluid in it from rubbing on the front tub.

I think rear bearing is bad, its grinding and water is coming out the back of the machine, I did take off the back cover and removed the black cover and can see the bearing but only when its moving does the water come out, my question is, do I have to replace the back half of the drum or is there a seal kit to purchase, I do not see a kit, only the back half of the drum.
For model number GFWR2700H1WW
Hi Richard, Thank you for the question. The bearing and the seals are all part of the rear tub assembly, PartSelect Number PS8757349. In order to replace the bearing and seals you will need to replace the rear tub. Hope this helps!

As a followup to my previous question, my machine is actually a front-loader washing machine, can you let me know for the specific instructions on replacing the rear tub bearing on that instead?
For model number GFWR4805F0RR
Hello Vincent,
1- Unplug the washer and turn off the water supply. Dissasemble the front and top panel of your washer and remove the V-belt connecting the pulley on the back of the drum to the drive motor.
2- We recommend having a second person around for this job, as the parts can be quite heavy. Remove the screws holding the stator motor wire clamps to the drum housing and disconnect the ground wire with a nut driver. Undo the drive shaft bolt in the center of the assembly with a socket wrench, and have your assistant hold the inside of the drum while you do so.
3- Remove the stator. Undo the bolts keeping the stator armature to the drum housing with a socket wrench, support the bottom and pull the armature off the drum housing carefully.
4- Take off all hoses and wire connections leading to the drum housing, and undo the bolts securing any counterweights to the front of the drum and remove the weights. Disconnect the shock absorbers and suspension springs, then lift the drum housing out and lay it face down on large wooden blocks.
5- Remove the bolts keeping the top half of the housing to the bottom half with a socket wrench. Separate these halves and remove the old rubber seal from the groove on the flange. Turn over the inner housing and use penetrating oil around the inner lip of the bearing on the drive shaft; let it stand 15 minutes.
6- Position the flat side of a wooden plank on top of the driveshaft and use a hammer to get the driveshaft and inner tub to drop out. Lift up the inner half to reveal the drive shaft connected to the inner tub by the spider.
7- Clean it if needed and move the tub to one side. Place the outer half of the tub housing on the blocks and lever the bearing seal out using a flat-head screwdriver. Clean out any rust and use penetrating oil around the bearing's outer edge, then let it stand for 15 minutes, then turn the housing over and repeat this on the inner bearing.
8- Clean up any leftover oil and use lubricant around the outer face of both new drum bearings. Insert the outer bearing into the cavity and use a rubber mallet to help line it up. Turn the housing over and do the same with the inner bearing.
9- Line up the inner drum with the shaft and the hole in the bearing seal, and lower it carefully until it fits in. Insert the new rubber drum housing seal into the groove inside the outer housing's rim and lower the upper half in place.
10- Put the bolts back in, install the drum housing, and reassemble your machine by reversing the procedures outlined.
I hope this helps.

Is there a resource to show how to disassemble the washer to change the rear end where the bearings are? It looks very hard to figure how to take this machine apart. It is only 3 years old and I do not want it in a landfill!

Loud noise while spinning. Sounds like a bearing going bad. Please recommend part#. Thanks, greg
For model number GFWR4800F0WW
Hi Greg,
Thank you for your inquiry. If it is the bearing that that is the issue you will need to replace the rear tub assembly as the bearing would be a part of this. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
