This part is the replacement switch assembly for your top-load washer. It contains the switch mechanism and the connecting wire that hooks the door latch to the electrical system of the washer. The lid switch holds lets your washer know when the door is latched, so it can begin the wash cycle. If the lid switch is damaged, it will not allow the washer to run properly. Be sure to disconnect the washer from the power and water sources before you begin this repair. This part is sold individually and is a genuine OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

My Kenmore washer is displaying the error code DL. What is the replacement part to correct this problem.
Hello Althea, Thank you for the question. The DL error code indicates that the washer door cannot be locked. We suggest checking the wiring to make sure nothing has come lose. If the wiring is good, you may need a new Lock Switch, PartSelect Number PS8751171. We hope this helps.

For model number WT4870CW
Hi Paul, thank you for your question. Yes it does sound like what you need to look at is your lid switch. That part will not allow your appliance to continue if it believes that the lid is open. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
