My freezer freezes up when my fridge is turned up to cold. However fridge doesn't feel cold enough unless turned up higher setting. Fan runs in freezer. Freezer stays cold. Could this be thermostat problem?

Michelle for model number FRT18G4A

Hi Michelle, Thank you for your inquiry. In a situation where your fridge is too warm and the freezer freezes when the temperature control is set to cold, you may need to either replace the defrost timer, the evaporator fan motor kit or the defrost thermostat. To verify which part is causing the issue you will need a multimeter to check the continuity of the parts. I hope this helps with your repair. Thank you and have a great day!

Frigidaire gallery the issue with the Frigidaire is the refrigerator section temperature goes from 57f to 62f. The temperature should be at 0f for the freezer area and 34f for the refrigerator area. I replaced the fan blade because it was broken the freezer is okay, but the refrigerator is at 57f to 62f. Do you think it might be the temperature cold control thermostat that's not working? Thanks

Sid for model number fghs2631pf0

Hi Sid, Thank you for your inquiry. If your refrigerator is not cooling, the cold control thermostat is one part you will have to look at. Some other parts you will have to look at as well are the evaporator fan motor, the thermistor, the condenser fan motor, the electronic control board and the compressor start relay. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

CARL for model number LFHT1513LWO

Hi Carl, Thank you for your inquiry. There are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the defrost thermostat, the run capacitor, the defrost timer, the temperature control thermostat, the fresh food door gasket, the motor blower, the filter-drier and the evaporator motor and fan blade. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My Frigidaire refrigerator is freezing everything. No matter what temp I change it to, it just remains super cold. My freezer seems usually colder as well. Is a new thermostat the correct part to fix this? Or is it something else? Thank you in advance.

Steve for model number GLRT83TES4

Hi Steve, Thank you for the question. I suggest replacing the Temperature Cold Control Thermostat. The Thermostat helps maintain the desire temperature. Hope this helps!

The lower sections stays good and cold but the freezer stays around 60-63 degrees. Occasionally i will open the door and it will be ice cold but its short lived. I was thinking the fan must bad because its obviously not a compressor issue. It can't be a defrost timer because its not the lower section. I guess it could be the thermostat but its not hot hot. Suggestions?

Daniel for model number LFHT1713LW1

Hi Daniel, Thank you for your question. That may be the part that is the issue but you should also check your defrost thermostat and the temperature cold control thermostat as well to see if either of those parts are malfunctioning. You can test both of these parts with a multi-meter. Test your defrost thermostat at room temperature and also in a bowl of ice water to get a full test. Good luck.

Refrigerator would not run but interior light was on.

I unplugged the refrigerator, then opened the door and removed four screws holding the plastic electrical panel to the interior top of the main refrigerator compartment and noticed the cold control was corroded badly, apparently from moisture in the panel. I ordered a new one from partselect.com. When it arrived the next day, I then pulled off the control knob, unclipped the cold control, unplugged the three wires to the control, then removed the styrofoam insulation blocks holding the thermocouple wire and then removed the thermocouple wire to complete the removal. I then reversed the process to install the new thermostat and control. That is repositioned the thermocouple wire, put the insulation blocks back to hold the wire, then replugged the three electrical wires, clipped the control back and pushed the control knob back on and finally screwed the panel back to the top of the main compartment and plugged the refrigerator electrical cord back in to provide current to the refrigerator. It immediately started up and ran fine. Total time - about 8 minutes.

Top freezer working properly, but lower fridge not cooling.

since I had my fridge since 2003 it seems that I've gotten my moneys worth but it has worked flawlessly with no issues. I did not want to part with it so I troubled shoot the system and realized that it could have been number of things so I just decided after reading some reviews here on this site I decided to just purchase the items that would be effecting the fridge not working properly which was the evaporator fan, defrost thermostat, defrost timer, temperature cold control thermostat, I also cleaned the condenser coils in the back of the unit so they can be able to withdraw heat from the unit. my repair and installation took about 4 hours due to the cleaning of the coils but now the fridge is working like brand new. thanks to this sitt and it's comprehensive video tutorials on installations and repair it my job a lot easier to do.this is not my first time ordering from this site and will not be my last. anyone considering ordering from this site do not hesitate there are great with parts and customer service.
