This water inlet valve in your refrigerator, also called a solenoid valve or water control valve, regulates water flow to the icemaker and dispenser. It is found at the rear of the appliance, where it connects to the household water supply line. It uses electrical solenoids to control the flow of water. Need to buy the bypass plug for the ice maker

Hello David, thank you for your question. The manufacturer has advised that there is no bypass plug require for this unit. You would just remove the filter and it would automatically bypass the filter. I hope this helps!

The exterior door front water filler works fine and then very slowly intermittently . I think it is a defective water valve unit ps3618979 . Unit is a blue plastic solenoid with wired plugs and small water inlet and outlet #fs-11a-1 dc 5v 60664501

Hi Chris, thank you for your question. It certainly sounds like it might be your valve that is the issue. You can test the part with a multi meter to be sure. It should be reading anywhere between 500 - 1500 ohms, for continuity. Good luck with your repair.

The water flow on my door has decreased significantly. I replaced water filter and reset. I still have slow flow. I checked water reservoir and found that it is not filling. I think problem is water inlet valve. I also tried taking out water filter to see if it would fill and does not. Does part number AJU72992603 sound like the solution?

Thank you for your question. If the water flow has decreased in the refrigerator, the water inlet valve is one part that may cause this issue. You also check the water lines for clogs and check the water pressure in the home to see if it is correct. The water pressure should be between 40 and 120 psi. If it is not within this range, you may have to contact a plumber to check it out. We hope this helps!

the ice maker stopped making ice. If I manually fill the ice despenser and push the ice dispenser lever, it will dispense ice. It just won't make any.

My water dispenser stop working. The fridge still produces ice. I checked and changed the water filter and the lines are not frozen. When the water lever is pressed it makes a humming noise but does not dispense water. What components possibly failed?
